Subscribe from the iOS app
The Cursor iOS app supports subscribing to a paid plan as an in-app purchase handled by Apple. Here's how it works and how it differs from subscribing on the web.
Which plans can I buy in the app?
If you don't already have a plan billed through cursor.com or grok.com, you can subscribe to an individual plan from the app. If you already subscribed in the app, you can upgrade your plan there too. If you're on a plan billed through cursor.com or grok.com, manage it there instead.
Which plans the app offers depends on your account:
- Accounts on The X Subscription, including every new account: Plus, Premium, and Super, monthly or yearly, and Ultra monthly.
- Legacy Cursor accounts that haven't switched: monthly Pro, Pro+, or Ultra.
Teams and Enterprise plans aren't sold in the app. Subscribe on cursor.com instead.
A legacy Pro, Pro+, or Ultra plan bought in the app stays billed by Apple. To move to The X Subscription, switch at cursor.com/unify, then cancel the Apple subscription in your iPhone or iPad Settings. Switching can't cancel or refund a Cursor App Store subscription for you; request any refund from Apple.
How do I manage an in-app subscription?
Apple is the merchant of record for in-app purchases, so Apple handles all subscription management.
- To view, change, or cancel your plan, see Apple's guide to viewing and canceling subscriptions.
- For refunds, invoices, and receipts, use Apple's Subscriptions and billing support.
Because Apple processes the payment, Cursor can't cancel an in-app plan or issue a refund for you. Any billing question on an in-app subscription goes through Apple.
Can I use extra usage on an in-app plan?
Yes. Apple bills your subscription, and extra usage is billed separately on the web.
- The X Subscription: buy prepaid credit, turn on Auto Top-up, and set a monthly additional usage limit under Additional usage credits at grok.com/dashboard/billing. See Usage-based charges.
- Legacy plans: on-demand usage is billed to a payment card you add on the web. In a browser, go to cursor.com/dashboard, open Spending, and set a monthly limit. You'll be asked to add a card if you don't have one on file. See On-demand usage for mobile subscriptions for the full steps.
How do I switch to a subscription on the web?
You can't switch directly while an in-app subscription is active. To move to a plan billed through cursor.com or grok.com:
- Cancel the in-app subscription through Apple.
- Wait for it to expire at the end of the current period.
- Once it lapses, sign up again on the web: grok.com/dashboard/billing on The X Subscription, or cursor.com/dashboard/billing on a legacy plan.
To move a legacy in-app plan to The X Subscription instead, use cursor.com/unify and then cancel the Apple subscription yourself.
Is my plan tied to my email or my Apple ID?
Both. An in-app plan is tied to a single Cursor email and the Apple ID used to buy it. If you sign in with a different email and try to restore the purchase, you'll see an error. Use the same email you subscribed with.
What if my in-app purchase hasn't synced?
Your subscription status usually syncs automatically. If it still looks wrong after a purchase, tap Restore Purchases in the app. This re-downloads your subscription state from Apple and re-applies your plan. Restore Purchases is for accounts that aren't already on a cursor.com subscription.
Can I buy a plan in the app in my region?
Yes. In-app plans are available in every region where Cursor is on the App Store, which is everywhere except mainland China.
