Easter Chicks w/Bird Punch

I combined the sketch for ODBD Shining Light Challenge with colors from Stacey's Curtain Call Challenge (So Saffron, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake) to create this spring card. This was my first time using the 2-step bird punch to make Easter chicks (go to my tips/tutorial heading at the top of my blog to find the link to Ann's blog) and they were so easy and fun to make! I used tiny black pearls for the eyes instead of the punched eye that Ann used. The lilies were colored with Copics, cut out and glued to the card. Yellow Stickles were added to the centers. The white oval was embossed to add a bit more dimension. I was stumped by these colors at first, but was happy with the end result. I wanted to add a sentiment to the front, but ran out of room, so it will go on the inside. Thanks for stopping by!

A Pursonal Card

Using the colors from Stacey's Curtain Call Challenge (Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, White) and Lea Lawson's layout from Skipping Stones Design, I came up with this fun card. I paper pieced the purse, die cut the doily lace border and added an embroidered floral trim (by Wright's). This retired DP had all the colors I needed with the green being a little brighter than Pear Pizzazz but close enough IMO. Hope you're having a wonderful day...wherever you are!

Hello Monday!

It's time for the Mojo Monday Challenge...always a good way to start out the week! I used Stacey's fabulous colors for the Curtain Call Color Challenge - Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, & White...perfect for flowers! I stamped 3 different sized flowers and layered them with foam dots. The pink panel was an embossed scrap in my massive scrap pile! The leaves in the sentiment circle were stamped off once in Wild Wasabi. It's a really dreary day in my part of the country...am thinking I should have made the circle element a sun! :-)

Casing Sue

Sue (Tillymint) is the featured stamper on SCS and I chose THIS CARD in her wonderful gallery to CASE. I changed images, colors and rounded the bottom corners to make it my own. The colors are for this week's Curtain Call Color Challenge: Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, Almost Amethyst, White.

You Rock!

This is one of those non-mushy Valentines & I'm thinking it would go perfectly for my drummer son who plays in a rock band! I used the colors for Stacey's Curtain Call Challenge (Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, White) & the layout for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I was happy to find this DP in my stash with all the colors and knew I wanted to create a couple of heart flowers. The stems are from Verve's Dream Big set - don't the leaves remind you of hearts? The hearts are SU's Love You Much - stamped in black and punched using SU's triple heart punch. The grass border die (MFT) helps to ground the flowers and of course, I had to add a pop of black ribbon. I love Verve's new Classy Label die with the coordinating stamp from the Sweet Treats set. I colored it in with Copics (B06 & YG63) and finished off the card with some tiny silver pearls. Hope you like it and hope your Monday is a fabulous one!

Twas the Night After Christmas...

...and all through the house...the stamp room was stirring once again after a wonderful couple of days with family and friends! Just so thankful the snow storm went on by us and only dumped a couple of inches. Relatives on the east coast weren't so fortunate! 18 inches in Chesapeake...more than my DH's cousin could ever remember seeing in that area! LeisaJane is the featured stamper on SCS and I cased this card of hers. This card is also for Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge to use Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze and White. I sponged the skies with Baja Breeze ink and sponged the grass with Pear Pizzazz ink. The edges were distressed and sponged with Early Espresso. This is one those generic cards I like to keep in my stash to add a sentiment later as needed.

Curtain Call Wreath

Stacey has some fabulous colors in the Curtain Call Color Challenge this week: Bravo Burgundy, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla! I stamped the wreath in Early Espresso then stamped the berries & sentiment in burgundy. A quick espresso ribbon and chomped corners and this CAS card was completed.

Casing Kris

After visiting family in Ohio over Thanksgiving, it's good to be home and back in my stamp room. The alarm went off at 4:45 a.m. and we were on the road by 5:20. With speed limits now 70 mph on most interstates, my DH's heavy foot got us home in record time! Good thing because I had to be at work by 2:15. Long Haul

I need to build up my masculine card stash, so when I saw the Curtain Call Challenge was to use Basic Gray, Tempting Turquoise, Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip & White...it was a perfect opportunity! I used the sketch from Paper Sundaes Challenge. I love this EF for a BG to any wheeled image and love these brads for a masculine touch. The truck was colored with Copics and cut out & popped with dimensionals.
