mentorship program
JSOC’S mentorship program was created to help support incoming Carleton journalism students professionally and academically. Older journalism students act as a source of advice and guidance and are paired with their mentees based on similar interests to create a personalized experience for each student. Mentors and mentees are encouraged to meet up once a week for as long as they both see fit, and can be either in-person or online to accommodate for each others’ schedules. Not only does the program promote strong connections in the journalism field, but also allows students to learn more about opportunities, experiences, future courses, reporting techniques and more at Carleton’s J-School and beyond.
