Autumn Blessings

Image
Hello friends! Today brings a few autumn cards to the blog. Fall is not my favorite season, but the colors it brings are so very pretty. Here are some new products hitting the shelves of Taylored Expressions today.  This card came together pretty quickly. In my mind, I wanted to create a wreath of sorts. Not a typical wreath but a bundle of the stamped images. First, the swirl background was diecut with white cardstock before being adhered to the cardftont, along with the sentiment. The leaves were stamped in yellow and orange inks, then diecut and adhered with foam adhesive. Some of the leaves had two layers of foam adhesive for two reasons, so the leaves could be arranged that way and also for added dimension. The What a Hoot Cling and Clear Combo set and stencil has everything you need to make so many different variations and more of this card. These sets in my opinion are the best bang for your buck, because it makes creating so easy.  The red rubber background w...

Taylored Expressions Happy Fall

Image
Hello friends! I am sharing a few projects with you today, from the Tayloreed Expressions Fall/Thanksgiving release.  I peeked into the design team photos, and wow! There are so many beautiful projects going to be shown today. The A game was brought for sure. This first card looks fairly simple, but a lot of love, time and math went into it.  I stamped the background stamp onto a white panel, which has the leave stems. The stencils are created so that you can have an array of leaf colors on the stems. I wanted an ombre fall card, so as I layered each stencil, I only applied each ink color in a third of the card. Once the stenciling was complete I used the same inks to blend on the edges so the white wasn't so bright. Once the ink was dry, I took a white gel pen and went over the edges of each leaf.  The "happy fall y'all" stamp was stamped multiple times with the same inks, then diecut out with the coordinating die. Twine was added to embellish.  For my s...

Hello, friend

Image
Hello, friends! Are you ready for cuteness overload? The Acorn House die set from Lawn Fawn, is ridiculously cute! There are so many scenes in my head that I cannot wait to create using this die. For this card the base< trees and top of the acorn were diecut with Kraft cardstock. To get a richer color I ink blended brown onto the edges for contrast. I did this this the acorn house as well. Behind the backdrop is a trimmed down piece of Into The Woods Remix patterned paper. Except for the "hello, friend" above the door, this is primarily a no stamping card. Are you following along with this release? What is your favorite stamp set or die so far? Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog, to see new inspiration everyday and also have a chance to win new items from this release!

Into The Woods Remix

Image
Hello there! Today, I am sharing a few project using the Into The Woods Remix. I have a card, some pillow boxes and tags! It was such a popular paper collection Lawn Fawn had to bring it back! The pillow boxes were created using the pillow box die. You can use the 6x6 or 12x12 paper. This is a brand new tag set that I was itching to create with. Thank you so much for joining me! Please visit the Lawn Fawn blog to see more wonderful projects, chances to win product and details on the release!!

Hello there friends! How are all of you doing? This has been not only the weirdest year, but such a strange summer as well. Since my children were little, we have always traveled and vacationed in the summer. So to have canceled trips is just a little sad.  Anyhow, I have a card to share with you today. The image on my card is from Big Acorn which is a new mini 2x3 stamp set from Lawn Fawn . I stamped the images with the Sugar Cookie ink, and then watercolored them. This technique is called no line watercoloring. Because, you cannot see the stamped detail of the images. The sentiment is from the Lets Go Nuts stamp set. Its a fall themed set with the cutest images.  Typically when I am watercoloring, I stick to Fabriano & Arches cold pressed watercolor paper. I just know I will get consistent results with both. To add a little bit of detail to the acorns, I used a white permanent pen and added some dots.  I love the summer months and warm weather. However, many o...

Happy Fall

Outside In Stitched Pumpkins plus Fall Fling kind of equals magic. This paper collection inspires me to make pretty things! I used both of the new pumpkin dies from Lawn Fawn to create this dimensional pumpkin as well as the leaf dies that are included. To get the depth in the leaves, each leaf is adhered using foam adhesive.  This might be my favorite card that I have made from this release. It flows nicely, and the colors are just so beautiful. Here is another card using the pumpkin dies in a different way! Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to check out all of the wonderful projects being shown today. As well as getting a chance to win new product!

Thankful For You

Hello Friends! I hope you all have had a wonderful summer so far! Today I am sharing a fun new die from Lawn Fawn called Flippin Awesome. It is the easiest interactive die that I have ever used! Some of those dies, make you feel like you need to me a mathematician who went back to school to be a magician. They are hard lol. Anyhow, this new die, paired with the Fall Fling pattern paper, has me wishing for Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and I don't even really like fall! (not a fan of things dying lol) I live in Florida, I can't help it for loving perpetual summer weather, its not my fault hahaha.  But back to this die, and these papers. They are absolute magic together. The Fall Fling paper might be my favorite new product of this fall/winter release. Its that amazing.  I hope you all are following along with the August Inspiration Week on the Lawn Fawn Blog . I might be biased, but the designers are sooo good! Make sure you leave a comment on the LF blog if you ...

Hello there! Sometimes you just need a clean card with lots of white space, you know?  Do not get me wrong, I love a good technique as much as anyone else, but you don't need all of those things to make a pretty card. Simple, basic stamping will always produce a happy card that you can mail to a friend. For this card, I stamped the sentiment and then built the images around it. The leaves were easy to place because I could stamp them off the tail of the "e" letter. Then I chose the pumpkin and fruit to go above the sentiment because they were flat on the bottom, and could fit between the G and the D. The images were colored in with copic markers, then to embellish a bow was tied using pretty orange ribbon. This stamp is called Happy Thanksgiving , and you can see the full reveal over on the Technique Tuesday blog !

Fall is Coming!

Image
Hello friends.  A few projects are on the blog today. Both are showcasing new products from the latest Lawn Fawn release, and very much so fall inspired. First up, is a clean and graphic card using the Caramel Apple stamp and die set.  The apples were stamped in black ink onto white cardstock, colored in with copic markers and then cut out with the coordinating dies. The card base is 4.25 x 5.5 inches using the white woodgrain cardstock from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment was double stamped since the cardstock is textured, and the apples were adhered using foam adhesive.  I die cut a piece of pattern paper from the Knit Picky Fall collection using the tote bag die. Then using the Mini Box Bat add-on die set, die cut purple glittered cardstock and adhered it to the bag as a fun halloween goody bag. Embellished with twine. The bag was then filled with candy corn and a ghost peep. That peep is giving me so much life lol For more product information, head ...

Happy Fall

Am I the only one who gets excited over a new pattern paper collection? Especially holiday papers! It is very much still summer, and I am not wishing this warm weather away at all. However, winter holidays (not the cold) are my favorite!   Lawn Fawn created a new pattern paper collection called Knit Picky Fall.  Its a play on the original winter collection. To create this card, I started by making a card base with the new white woodgrain cardstock. This is a top fold card base and measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches. The pattern paper was die cut using the Stitched Leaves die cut set .  Once I had the pattern paper die cut out. The diecuts were adhered to the card using foam adhesive.  To create a cool dimension, the leaves were popped up at different heights.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink, trimmed and adhered to the card front. For more great inspiration using this paper, head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog .

Lawn Fawn: Perfectly Fall Plaid

Image
Hello friends!  Today I am sharing another treat bag, using the Scalloped Treat bag die and Stitched tree border dies from Lawn Fawn.  If you head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog , the focus today is the Perfectly Plaid Fall pattern paper, as well as new card stock and ink (like storm cloud...its a dark grey). Yesterday I talked about how easy is it is to create this treat bag.  Today I die cut the Stitched trees die and adhered it to the front of the bag using foam adhesive, it just gives the bag that little extra touch.  I didn't add a tag, but adding a stamped sentiment onto the twine would be super cute! Lawn Fawn: Happy Harvest

Image
Hello there! I know lots of you out there are sending your children off to school this week (and last), well in the south at least.  That means fall is right around the corner!  Living in Florida means summer kind of drags out to October, so fall here is just a few weeks.  But it truly is fantastic!  Warm days, cooler nights and no humidity. Anyhow, fall means fall projects.  Like Halloween, back to school, Thanksgiving, celebrating the harvest! Lawn Fawn is in the middle of August Inspiration Week, and everything has been fall themed.  Today is no different, as I am showcasing a stamp/die set called Happy Harvest.  Again don't hate me, I'm seriously addicted to this pillow box die, but I made a few pillow boxes using the Happy Harvest stamp set. Make sure you head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , to see some fabulous projects by the design team, and for a chance to win this set!! There are so many fun images in this set.  I couldn't d...

Lawn Fawn: Sweater Weather Collection

Image
I have a few projects to share today, using the Sweater Weather Collection from Lawn Fawn .  Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , to see more wonderful projects using Sweater Weather, as well as a chance to win this entire collection! First up, is a layout I created using some of Lawn Fawn's stitched dies.  These pictures, kind of look like we were in snow, but we were really at a local beach.  My Dad, had come out for a visit, and it was cold for Florida, so we took a scenic drive all around NE Florida.  Then stopped at the beach, so he could stare out into the Atlantic (he is from California) and take a few family pictures too.  I was born & raised in California, and guess what?  The Pacific Ocean is freezing!!  Imagine my shock, when we first moved to the east coast, to find the waters warm, it was the strangest thing!  I had no idea that an ocean could be so warm. A quick card, easily made by utilizing dies.

Here is a companion card I made, to match the card I made yesterday.  I plan on making these into a set and giving them away.  So, I'm trying to keep them in the same color family.  Again, I am using Avocado Arts stamps.  I'm using simple stamping techniques, with minimal embellishments so they will only cost one stamp to mail. Check out what the other designers have created for you today, using this set as well. Happy Thanksgiving

Do you ever send Thanksgiving cards out?  To be honest, I make them, but don't send them.  Maybe this year I will actually get one into the mail?  I'm a cardmaker, not the best card sender lol.  I think the latest stamp set from Avocado Arts will help me on my mission to send a Thanksgiving card out.  It has classic images mixed with a few punny images/sentiments, to make this a great all around fall set.
