Masking Stencils

Image
Hello friends! I hope you are all doing well. Spring is well on its way where I live in North Florida. I love everything about this season except for the pollen. It is brutal this year.  Our friends over at Taylored Expressions have some new masking stencils that are scalloped that can now be layered with the original shape. I started by blending guava ink onto peaches n cream cardstock using the square masking stencil. Then using the negative piece from the stencil, I covered up my freshly blended square. Then I placed the scalloped square stencil onto the cardstock, secured it and then blended the scalloped border with fruit punch ink. The floral image was stamped using a Misti, for perfect placement and to have a nice solid image. At first glance the "thanks" looks like a die cut, but it was stamped multiple times in black ink. Very carefully, I cut the entire square and flowers out with scissors. If you look in the corner of the floral leaves you can see the peaches n cr...

TE Easter Release!

Image
Hello friends! I get to share such a fun release with you all today, from the Taylored Expressions Easter Release . I think there is a little something for everyone. Make sure you head on over to the website today to see whats new! For this first card, I wanted to use colors I typically don't use together but are bright, colorful and scream spring. The cardstock was cut and scored to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. To begin the Pennant Parade stamp was stamped directly on top of the card base. Using the clear stamps from the Pennant Parade East Set, the pennants were stamped multiple times with different ink colors. They were cut out and set aside. The sentiment was stamped in black ink, and the the little elements around the banner were stamped as well before the pennants were adhered to the card using foam adhesive.  I love it when a cared turns out exactly how you picture it in your mind. This is such a beautiful stamp, I cannot wait to create more cards with it! To start the card b...

Waving Hello

Happy St Patricks Day! Today over on the Lawn Fawn Blog the designers are sharing this Duck/Chick add on die set. It is meant for a box, but I wanted to show that it can go onto anything, so I put it on a little tote bag. This is the perfect bag to put a treat in for Easter! Yesterday the stamp and die set called Rawrsome was showcased. I created a fun no line watercolor scene. This is the perfect stamp set to create any card/tag for anyone who loves dinosaurs! My kids would have flipped out when they were little if they saw this stamp set!

From all of Us

This little mini set called Easter Party, might be my favorite stamp set of this release.  What could be better than cute little humans dressed as a flower, duck and Easter bunny? Very few things. I stamped this image five times, and colored in each one using Copic Markers.  I wanted a line of rainbow girl flowers to match the pattern paper.  So each one was colored in a color of the rainbow.  After I colored them in, they were die cut using coordinating dies, and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , for more great inspiration and a chance to win this set!

Some Bunny

Super cute stamp set, and crazy fun new Easter Egg dies?! Sign me up! This new stamp set called Some Bunny is so cute, and has great spring/easter sentiments and images.  For this project, I stamped a bunch of my favorite images, and colored them in using Copic markers.  Once they were colored in, using the coordinating diecuts, I cut them out.  The Easter Egg frame and shape, are two different die sets.  I am imagining super cute Easter Egg shaker cards using them. Happy Easter Pivot Pop Up

Image
Lawn Fawn has created such an ingenious pop up die, called the Pivot Pop Up.  It allows an entire scene of your choice to pop up, when you open a card. It is seriously so cool!  If you head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog or youtube, there is an excellent video that will walk you step by step on how to use this die! The die set includes, trees, clouds, hills etc to really have fun with the set.  I included some images from the Easter party stamp set.  The sky was created with watercolors, and then i watercolored over the hill also using a pearl green watercolor which gives it a sparkly glisten. I am so ready for spring, Easter and for flowers to be in bloom and this card is just a ray of sunshine.

Lawn Fawn: Eggstra Special Easter

Image
This new set from Lawn Fawn called Eggstra Special Easter, has coordinating stamps and dies.  Which include easter baskets, bunnies, candies a few sentiments and tulips.  I wanted to try something a little different.  So I decided to water color my scene. Since I was going to be using water, I needed to use an ink that was permanent and would not bleed.  So I chose the VersaFine onyx black ink, and heat set it (it can take a long time to dry). I am not very good at watercoloring, but what I have learned is that you must watercolor in layers.  Meaning, you apply a layer, let dry completely, then add in more color.  This can take an awfully long time, and if you mess up along the way it is very sad lol, because the amount of time invested in the project has now been ruined. Make sure you head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , as there is so many great projects as well as product being given away.
