TE Easter Release!

Image
Hello friends! I get to share such a fun release with you all today, from the Taylored Expressions Easter Release . I think there is a little something for everyone. Make sure you head on over to the website today to see whats new! For this first card, I wanted to use colors I typically don't use together but are bright, colorful and scream spring. The cardstock was cut and scored to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. To begin the Pennant Parade stamp was stamped directly on top of the card base. Using the clear stamps from the Pennant Parade East Set, the pennants were stamped multiple times with different ink colors. They were cut out and set aside. The sentiment was stamped in black ink, and the the little elements around the banner were stamped as well before the pennants were adhered to the card using foam adhesive.  I love it when a cared turns out exactly how you picture it in your mind. This is such a beautiful stamp, I cannot wait to create more cards with it! To start the card b...

Narwhals & Sugar cookies!

Image
Last month I was in Kansas with a bunch of crafty friends, and I was able to complete a few cards for this Lawn Fawn Inspiration week!  Up first is a row of Winter Narwhals.  They each were stamped using the River Rock ink, and then colored in with colored pencils and gamsol.  The panel was blended using Distress Oxide inks, and then splattered with gold Kuretake watercolors. Each narwhal was adhered using foam adhesive. A double knotted twine bow was added for embellishment. Up next is the Sugar Cookie add-on stamp set. Each cookie was stamped in the new Sugar Cookie ink, then colored in using Daniel Smith Watercolors.  Glossy accents was placed on each cookie, then once dry hand cut. Glitter was added to the edges of the cookies to give them a vintage old timey feel. Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see more wonderful projects using these super cute sets!

Hello friends! I hope you all are enjoying your summer so far! My youngest child graduated High School and we had family out from California and Nevada. Also, my husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary, this past month as well. We had eloped in Charleston, SC so is was only fitting that we went back to celebrate with our family. Lately I have been a little lazy, but after the last 6 months, it has taken a toll on my mental health, so a few lazy days are in order. The stress of my husbands surgery, my son graduating, my daughter moving out...it has been a lot.  I am glad that our family is on the other side of it, and we are welcoming new chapters for all of us. Now on to my card! Technique Tuesday is releasing a new floral stamp set called Hello Hollyhocks, its a smaller stamp set, but you can do so much with it! I stamped the image twice in black ink, colored in the flower with copic markers, and then cut one of the flowers out. The sentiment and Butterf...

I Sea It's Your Birthday

Image
Sometimes when I get a mini set, I try and make a large card just using it. Its fantastic that Lawn Fawn stamps can coordinate and elevate each other, but thinking about the new customer, I wonder maybe this is their first set. How can I used just this stamp set? Here are two cards using this mini set called Seahorsin' Around, without using another stamp set.  The above card is new, and was stamped, then colored in with copic markers, and the card below was stamped and then colored in with watercolors.  Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog , to see how the designers used the two mini stamp sets being shown today!

Happy Birthday

Image
Hello friends! Its the Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week and the designers are showcasing the other half of the summer release. Today I am sharing a clean designed card, that will only take one stamp to mail. The card is a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base. Its a 4.25 x 11 inch strip of cardstock scored at 5.5 inches. This seems like a very simple concept, but I am adding in those measurement because a lot of new stampers like exact measurements for replication.  Once the card base was created, the sentiments from Birthday Before & After stamp set, were stamped in black ink onto the center of the card front. The images from the same stamp set, were stamped in black ink, then colored in using an assortment of copic markers. The images were fussy cut with scissors and then adhered to the cardfront using foam adhesive. If this isn't going in the mail, I would have added ribbon or twine to embellish! Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see some INCREDIBLE cards using this se...

Happy

Image
I have so many cards that I need to send out, it is getting ridiculous! Does that ever happen to you? You have well meaning intentions, but fail miserably? Yeah same. Today I am sharing a happy water colored card.   So simple to create this card. I stamped all of the sentiments, then water colored the inside of the "happy" sentiment using Zig water color pens in a rainbow order. (because is there any other order?) On the side of the front panel, black and white washi tape was added, just for added interest. Then the panel was popped up and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. The stamp set that was used is from Technique Tuesday, and its called Happy, Happy, Happy . So fun! Did you know tomorrow, sneaks start for the Technique Tuesday release?  All of the details will be on the TT blog tomorrow!

Thank You

Hi there! Sometimes I like to shake things up, do things other than a card. Today I have a muslin bag, that I stamped on. So fun! So, I stamped onto the bag using black ink and my MISTI tool.  I did this several times, and I did create a mask so that the stamping was seamless for the bigger stamp.  The stars were colored in using Alcohol markers.   Inside the bag is a wine opener. Then I attached it with some twine to a wine bottle and voila, the perfect gift!   Head on over to the Lawn Fawn blog ! They are having their June inspiration week, and today is all about the How You Been Stars add on !

Hello Friend

Image
Hello friends! Lately I have been on a quest to make pretty cards, that are also mail friendly.  Meaning, they only take one stamp to mail, and will not get ruined from mailing a card with too many layers.  A goal of mine is to send at least one card a week, hopefully more, but one is for sure attainable.  The closest post office is about 30 minutes in traffic, and spending an hour or more to mail a card doesn't fit into my schedule most days.  Thats why I need it to be fairly light with out layers, I know one stamp will do. Yes, the cards I blog I do send to friends. Which brings me to todays beauty.  This is the Strawberry Stamp Set from Technique Tuesday , that is being released today.  Something about fruit just makes me happy, especially strawberries.  Maybe its because it makes me think about a strawberry smoothie from Jamba Juice? Who knows?  But what I do know, is that I love this stamp set!  Its a 4x3 set, with a main strawber...

Be a Pineapple

Image
Hello friends! If you are sensing a theme, you might be right lol!  I am sharing another fruity card using the stamp set Funny Fruits from Technique Tuesday .  It is one of the stamp sets in the June release.  The full stamp reveal is over on the Technique Tuesday blog . I almost made this card using the peach, it was a hard decision, but the pineapple prevailed!   The pineapples were stamped in black ink repeatedly, then colored in with alcohol markers.  The sentiment didn't quite look right stamped onto the white cardstock above the pineapples. Instead it was stamped onto the same yellow paper, as the card base.  It is day 43289 of rain. Ok thats a lie, but it has been raining here in FL for about 3-4 weeks now, which is a recipe for being lazy. The gloomy sky is an energy suck. Hopefully today, the sun decides to show his face. I don't think its going to happen, but one can always hope!

Life With You is Sweet

Image
Hello friends! Can you believe the year is half over? I for one, cannot, still in denial lol.  What I am happy about is summertime, and this sweet stamp set called Summertime Treats from Technique Tuesday .  The June release is upon us, and boy is it a good one!  For my card today, I stamped the fruit images in black ink, that is alcohol marker friendly. I always reach for Memento Tuxedo black ink when coloring with any kind of alcohol markers, it is my tried and true, never fail ink.  So, after I stamped the images, they were colored in with a few different brands of alcohol markers.  Now that I am looking at the card, I could have added a strip of pattern paper or a bold colored card stock at the bottom of the card, which would help ground it a bit.  But, there really is nothing quite like a clean card with lots of white space. The full reveal of this stamp set is over on the Technique Tuesday blog , as well as another stamp set and several d...

You Are On My Mind

Image
Hello friends! Technique Tuesday is having a big release of new stamps and dies.  If you have been following along on the TT blog , then you might have seen a few images of the sets.  I am sharing a card using the Lilac stamp set.  This set is a mini set, I don't know the measurements off hand, but I'm pretty sure its a 3 x 4 inch stamp set.  There is the big lilac image, a few petals, and then some wonderful sentiments.   When creating this card, I had a friend in mind who could use a little bit of happy mail.  So, I spent a little extra time coloring it all in. The lilac image was stamped several times in a light grey ink, as well as the small petals. Then colored in using watercolors.  I used 4 colors, 2 different purples, a green and a yellow.  Once the panel was dry, it was adhered to a card base (4.25x5.5 in) using foam adhesive.  Then a white panel was die cut using a rectangle die.  The sentiment and petals were ...
