DW Berlin Briefing wins UK award as Best Political Podcast

"DW Berlin Briefing" podcast has won the award for Best Political Podcast at the Publisher Podcast Awards 2026. The jury announced the award at the ceremony in London on July 8, 2026.

The weekly video podcast "DW Berlin Briefing" explains the most important political developments in Germany and Europe to an international audience.

"DW Berlin Briefing is 'strategically important and very competently done,' the jury said in explaining its choice. "This team has created an accessible format that covers a wide range of political stories."  

The podcast hosts analyze current political debates, interview decision-makers and experts and provide context for developments in Germany, Europe and beyond. Recent guests have included former U.S. National Security Advisor John R. Bolton, CDU/CSU parliamentary group leader Jens Spahn, and Germany’s former ambassador to the United States, Emily Haber.

"DW Berlin Briefing" prevailed against strong international competition for this award. The shortlist included podcasts from The Economist, Sky News, Politico, The Spectator, and The New Statesman.
