So after a short hiatus Fox are back to being Fox, damn them. They've never seen a good show they couldn't unjustly cancel. Thanks for ruining an otherwise pretty good week guys!
Save Breaking In!
Also the Smallville finale is almost upon us, which...yeah. Mixed feelings - mostly relief that the pain is almost over plus dread at how much crap I'll have to sit through to see 2 scenes worth of Lex. I don't care at all about Superman, Lois, suits, flying or all the other 'iconic' stuff I'm supposed to be desperate to see and from what I've heard from the producers I've no confidence at all that they will do justice to Lex or the show I started watching 10 years ago.
It's sad - this show meant a lot to me. It brought me into fandom, into slash and on to LJ. I met most of my internet friends through Smallville. I remember back at the start of season 5 when I was scared that it would be cancelled because I wasn't ready to let go - and now I really wish that it had been. I wish they had concentrated on making 5 good seasons of the story they originally wanted to tell, instead of going on and on until the show killed it's own fandom, became unrecognisable and polluted all the good memories of what it once was. I used to think thet Clex would be it's legacy - now I only hope that it will be remembered as a cautionary tale of how to squander potential and ruin a TV show.
On to happier things...I just watched Megamind, which was great! I watched it from a Lexy point of view, of course. I'm pretty sure the Smallville finale will be nowhere near as satisfying.
