Box Sync after EOL

Hi,

what will happen to Box Sync after the EOL date? Will it stop working, i.e. not synchying the file? Or will it just not get updates but keep working as normal? Are the files currently on my laptop that are synched to the cloud with Box Sync safe?

I am unfortunately on an older Mac, so I cannot install Box Drive which requires a more recent MacOS.

Hi @FileExplorer99,

Welcome to Box Community, and let us use this thread to discuss more regarding Box Sync EOL.

This update was first rolled out via Announcing End Of Life for Box Sync.

Box Sync will not stop working completely, however once Box Sync is EOL there will be no available updates for this application. That’ll make it vulnerable to any issues and bugs without guarantee of any Box support going forward.

We hope that you’d consider upgrading your Operating System and use Box Drive instead.

Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, I can't upgrade my OS: I'm on a Mac that's over a decade old. I'll weigh the risks of staying with Box Sync against other sync options. Appreciate your response!
