Responsibilities
Energy
Dan Jørgensen’s task is to bring down energy prices for households and companies, produce more clean energy, upgrade our grid infrastructure and develop a resilient, interconnected and secure energy system.
He is responsible for:
- completing the Energy Union and supporting the implementation of the climate and energy framework for 2030
- putting forward an action plan for affordable energy prices to help bring down prices for households and business
- proposing an initiative to boost the roll-out of renewable energy and energy storage
- creating an action plan to ensure that Europe’s transition towards net zero is powered by an energy system with homegrown, clean electricity
- developing a roadmap towards ending Russian energy imports and ensuring the full implementation of REPowerEU
- proposing a dedicated strategy on investment in clean energy infrastructure
- finding ways to upgrade and expand our grid infrastructure
- making proposals to encourage and increase the use of carbon capture and storage
- adapting the security of our energy supply to the current geopolitical context
- increasing citizens’ participation in the energy transition and strengthen the social dimension of the Energy Union

Housing
Dan Jørgensen’s task is to support Member States in addressing the root causes of housing supply issues and to unlock public and private investment for affordable and sustainable housing.
He is responsible for:
- putting forward the first-ever European Affordable Housing Plan
- developing a European Strategy for Housing Construction to support housing supply
- establishing a pan-European investment platform to attract more private and public investment for affordable and sustainable housing
- contributing to a proposal that would allow Member States to provide funding to support affordable housing
- tackling systemic issues with short-term accommodation rentals and making proposals to address the inefficient use of the current housing stock

Declaration of interests
In line with the Commission's Code of Conduct for Members of the Commission, each Member of the Commission publishes a declaration of interests. The declarations of the Commissioners-designate can be found on the European Parliament’s website, where they were published before the confirmation hearings of the Commissioners.
The declarations of interests of the new Members of the Commission will be updated and published here at the beginning of 2025 in line with Article 3 of the Code of Conduct for the Members of the European Commission. Machine-readable versions of all declarations will also be made available in line with the requirements of the Code of Conduct. The declarations of interests follow the requirements set out in Article 3 and Annex 1 of the Code of Conduct for Commissioners.
