Mar. 12th, 2009 01:12 pmMm. Rice boiled in dashi stock + post-broiling bonito flakes and seaweed so it's actually more like a dashi risotto. And Spanish sausage and tamagoyaki. :D Top it all off with a wonderful iced hazelnut latte. Simple but awesome!
It's a meal that says, "F U SUMMER!"
I'm hoping that it'll make me energized for thesisprop writing!!!

Well, I think that it may be my nerves.
Nov. 17th, 2007 04:00 amHad coffee with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] today. We caught each other up on ICCI news as much as we could. I miss ICCI and it's a little strange that I'm still so attached to my high school class. I guess it's because they made St. Scho feel like home even on the weirder days. And a large chunk of what highschool!me needed was consistency... so the whole blocked section worked wonders. God, I'm so bad at this. ( an actual list of a hundred stupid things i miss most about the st. scho i grew up in )

So, did any of you guys know that to cook mac and cheese, you have to cook the noodles first? Like separately?
Because I didn't. I thought that all one had to do was a) get raw noodles,b) put in pot, c) add cheese and d) stir until appropriately mac and cheese-y. Huh. I guess you learn new things everyday.
Thankfully, I believe in researching before cooking anything. So no elbow macaroni was harmed. As of yet, anyway. I'll have to google exactly how to cook noodles. I know water's involved. And someone told me that one ought to check the noodles' cooked-ness by throwing it at a wall and seeing if it sticks. I assume there's a less barbaric way of doing that.
I bought some Korean seaweed earlier this evening, right after I bought this week's comics (Batman and the Outsiders, Salvation Run, Wonder Girl, Nightwing, X-Factor and Green Arrow/Black Canary) and I have Plans for the stuff.
It is 247 in the morning and I have just finished re-organizing, bagging, re-bagging, taping, re-taping, tagging, re-tagging my tiny comicbook collection. I think that my comicbooks may have had too much air today. I got way carried away... I'm not even sure that I read each comic I bought before I bagged, taped and tagged it. Huh. Hopefully, the one I missed was the Wondergirl issue. But I honestly can't be sure...
I got my copy of 'the First Among Sequels' by Jasper Fforde today. If I stay up anymore, I think I'll start on it. Hopefully, I'll fall asleep before the fanmixes I'm downloading finish. I've been simultaneously downloading four music mixes for the last three hours. I think zshare is way too slow for music downloads :( Mediafire just zips along.
Sometimes, I press the xkcd 'random' button.
I know that I'm nervous. God, how I know that I'm nervous. More nights of nervousness to come.

it's four in the morning. And I'm still nervous.

May. 21st, 2007 11:28 pmIt is 1130 in the evening, and I've just put a loaf and some buns in the oven (heh) to bake. I've got about 15 minutes til the buns are done, and half an hour for the loaf. Haven't injured myself at all (except for the part when I was kneading the bread and I accidentally pulled my thumbnail off a little with my other thumbnail... but the bleeding's done, so it's ok) and the dough looks like the stuff you see on the Food Channel. Moves like it too. ^^ So I figure I'm good.
I paid my tuition fee today. I was surprised that it took less than fifteen minutes. The guard moved the tiny serpentina into the South Conservatory and made us sit in benches. It was oppressively similar to the first time I ever paid a tuition fee in DLSU. I was tempted to warn the freshmen with me about how lines were a reoccuring theme in DLSU. And then I got over myself. I'm not anyone to give advice about being in University.
Met up with Earl (on Taft) and Ate Noey (in RCBC) today. Caught up with them about some things.
After Ate Noey and I went in opposite directions, I decided to walk for an hour and ended up getting caught in a huge parade on Ayala Avenue. I pretty much figured it out only when the phonebook confetti caught me in the mouth. I walked right through police barricades, singing along with my iPOD and swinging my hot pink Polar Bear lunch box. I think I almost got arrested, because the entire damn parade stopped. So I pretended to be a FilAm tourist, complete with a horrible rendition of a twang. *is horrible* They bought it, and they loved it. *is an idiot*
I took pictures to complete the look. gallery here I'm in ur parad3z, takin ur piktur3z people. I called Sian, half-dying with laughter. It was funnier a while ago. Now I'm just tired. Then I got caught in a mild drizzle that developed into a HUGE summer shower as soon as I got to the mall.
I'm home now. I hope the bread turns out well. I spent four hours making the damn thing.
You know this is going into my hijinks tag. I can't believe I only started tagging a month ago (I think). Tagging is fun! -_- That exclamation point tired me out.
Edit 0013

I made bread. wow. and it tastes... okay. nothing to cause a backbreaking reaction from Kuroyanagi... and I'm not punching it. But it's homebaked bread. by me. *GOGGLES*

Oh, I am so tired. -_- After cooking and cleaning for about three hours this morning I ended up crashing on my bed, promptly falling asleep. This is what I get for two consecutive all-nighters. The funny thing is, just a few years ago, I could handle nearly four straight days without sleep. Goodness. I'm only turning 21, I should still be able to handle these things. :/
The good news is: my spam musubi and tamago? SO good. XD LOL But that's just me and my low standards for home cooking.
Mum, Gojyo and I watched Shrek 3 and EVERYONE SHOULD GO WATCH IT. It's really fun! Hee. Snow White is my hero now. And I went and bought Mike Carey and John Bolton's God Save the Queen (finally! two weeks and a half late) at Fully Booked. I was pretty surprised that they had it so soon and I told Nympha, the purchasing lady, that. She gave me a lofty look and told me that with her on the job, it would always be so. I love the old Fully Booked personnel. So much character!
Nympha then told me to tell all my friends, that means you f-listers, that Fully Booked will be selling manga at the Mangaholic Event at Mall of Asia Music Hall tomorrow (Saturday, 051907, 10:00 - 20:00 Free Admission!) with a 10% discount.
I promised her I'd put it on my blog, so there it is! Buy stuff from them, okay?
After the movie, I went to the grocery store and stocked up on cooking supplies for tomorrow. My bestcousin's birthday is next Saturday and I figure I won't be able to attend any gatherings when school starts, so I invited her over for an Unbirthday party. We're cooking tonkatsu and some veggie dishes and prolly going to spend hours watching anime' or something. ^^ Oh, and course cards tomorrow as well. Wish me luck! ;)
I just finished keeping all the groceries (and labelling canisters with expiration dates), cleaning the kitchen (a LOT!) and doing a load of dark clothing in the washing machine. I figure it's time to take a break and read some comics ;) I figure that I'll want to review God Save the Queen later and put up a decent review of The Plain Janes that gives it justice.
P.S. So in love with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s fanmixes for Tim, Bart and Kon. [link here] you should all check them out. I've got Bart's running (heh, running) right now.
