Lab work at our Carrapateena copper mine in South Australia is all about monitoring, testing, and continuously improving. Scott and the team in the metallurgical lab replicate real-world conditions from the processing plant on a smaller scale, finding new and innovative ways to improve copper production efficiency. As one of the largest mining projects developed in South Australia in the past decade, Carrapateena is a major producer of copper concentrate. #Innovation #BHP #Copper

Steel is one of the world's most essential materials. It is also one of the hardest sectors to decarbonise. In partnership with industry, we are progressing technologies to reduce emissions in the near term, while developing new pathways needed for decarbonisation over the longer term. This includes, reducing emissions from primary steelmaking today, whilst developing new pathways – including Direct Reduced Iron paired with an Electric Smelting Furnace (DRI-ESF), a promising combination that could unlock near-zero emission steel production using Pilbara ores. Progress will require partnership, technology and persistence. Whether through improving today's blast furnaces or developing the steelmaking technologies of tomorrow, BHP is working with partners across the value chain to support pathways to near-zero emission steel. To learn more, read our latest BHP Insights article, where Dr Nigel Tame and Dr Lauren North discuss opportunities to reduce emissions from existing blast furnace infrastructure. #Steelmaking #BHP #Decarbonisation

What helps power electric vehicles, wind turbines and solar panels? Copper. As the world transitions to a lower-carbon future, copper is becoming increasingly important in the technologies and infrastructure that support the energy transition. We produce resources that are essential to this transition, and we are committed to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions generated from their production. #BHP #Copper #Decarbonisation

A significant step forward for BHP's growth pipeline. BHP's Board has approved an investment of approximately US$0.9 billion (100% basis) to progress the Ministers North Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia into execution. Once fully ramped up, the project is expected to deliver 20 million tonnes of iron ore per year, supporting long-term growth and helping sustain production from our WA Iron Ore operations. A satellite extension of our Yandi operation, Ministers North reinforces our commitment to Western Australia and the Pilbara, building on decades of partnership with Traditional Owners, operational excellence and collaboration across our business. #Growth #IronOre

We're celebrating the innovators at BHP who are helping shape safer and more productive ways of working. Our Breakthrough Open House was designed to unlock innovative ideas from the frontline team who can see the challenges, risks, and opportunities to do things differently. From robotic maintenance and underwater cleaning technologies to automation redesign, their ideas have demonstrated what's possible when technology is combined with frontline expertise. From over 900 submissions, four winning teams were chosen to take their ideas through to a proof-of-concept. Congratulations Ellen Thomas, Brendan Kitchiner, Gino Villalobos, Lucy Williams, Dan Carroll, Shane Cordingley, Chris Pope and Mitch Elliott. Read more in the comments. #Innovation #ThinkBig

Copper is essential to the technologies, infrastructure and energy systems that power our world. We’ve taken another step forward in our plans to grow Copper South Australia, awarding a design and supply contract for key processing facilities as part of the proposed Olympic Dam smelter and refinery expansion. The contract supports our ambition to increase copper production in South Australia to 500ktpa through the 2030s, with potential to grow to 650ktpa by the end of the decade. With more than A$2 billion of Copper South Australia projects already in execution, we're continuing to invest in a world-class copper province that will help supply more of the copper the world needs. #BHP #Copper #Growth

✅ Creating jobs ✅ Building skills ✅ Supporting communities Behind every number is a person, a family and a future being shaped. In FY2025 BHP's total economic contribution was US$46.8 billion. This includes payments to suppliers, wages and benefits for over 90,000 employees and contractors, dividends, taxes, royalties and voluntary investment in social projects across the communities where we operate. For Angela, a first-year apprentice boilermaker in Queensland, it means the opportunity to learn new skills, build a career and create a future for herself through mining. #BHP #Contribution #Community
