It's (almost) Christmas!

Happy Christmas Eve, Eve!
I have a quick post today since I have cooking to do and a house to clean! ;)
I used Whimsy Stamp's Jolly Holly Stencil with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. I framed the images with the Selfie Die set.  I also used the Slimline Scenic Countryside die for the frame. The background seemed to bare so I added kraft trees using the Tree Assortment dies.    The sentiment was placed on a tag from the Bookmark and Tags Die Set.   Stickles were added for a bit of sparkle here and there.
:)

Here are the supplies I used!
Have a wonderful Christmas!!

Christmas Tags

Hello friends!
Just a quick post today as I am heading to Misericordia to drop off Cortney's presents.
I created a couple of tags using Whimsy's Jolly Holly Stencil in various shades of reds, greens, and blues.  I added glossy accents and glitter to the berries.  The tag itself was cut out using the Slimline Fancy Frame Die.  I stamped the sentiment from the Simple Sentiment Strips set.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Whale of a Time! New Release!

Hi there! And happy weekend to you!
I have another card using Whimsy Stamp's Whale of a Time!  For the background I used the new Speckled Heart Stencil and Nuvo Glimmer paste.   Once it was dry, I sponged a bit of Picked Raspberry Distress ink to the edges
I stamped the whale image and colored it with Copic Markers.  I fussy cut it out and added white speckles using a white gel pen. I used Crafty Foam tape to adhere it to the stenciled background.  I glued a few of the clear droplets and gold pieces around the whale from the Sparkletz-Coral Coast.

I stamped the sentiment in black and used the new Quick Strips Die set.  I love that it adds a little interest with the faux stitching. I tucked it under the whale, added a bit of gold cording and a teeny posy.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! :)
Have a great weekend!

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend!  Both of my kids were home for Mother's Day, so my house and my heart were full!
I was up on the SRM blog last week with a new card I had created using the new set, Bible Bubbles.
I first stenciled the background with a few Tim Holtz inks and then stamped each sentiment directly over it in black ink.
I gave each bubble dimension using gray Copic markers.  I stamped a few hearts and colored them in with red.  To get each sentiment to stand out a bit more, I added glossy accents.

I added red twine at the top to bring out the red a bit more.
Thank you for stopping by today! I am hoping to post pictures of my new craft room soon! It's definitely been a work in progress!

We Love....

Good morning friends!  I was up on the SRM Blog yesterday with this little number.  It uses their new set called, Bible Margins Love.   I stenciled the background first with a polka dot stencil and Tim Holtz inks.  I cut it into two pieces using a scalloped edge die from Spellbinders.
The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink and embossed in black.  I layered it over a piece of plaid paper from Lawn Fawn.  My last few touches were sequins and silk ribbon to "tie" the piece together.

Cortney comes home this weekend to celebrate her 23rd birthday. The other day she had Facetimed me  and I asked her what she would like for her birthday and she VERY loudly and VERY clearly stated, "CAKE!"  LOL!  I think I can handle that! ;)

This Penguin Needs Sunscreen!

This little guy needs to watch out! His belly is getting a bit pink!
I adore this stamp set from My Favorite Things!  It is called Penguins in Paradise.  He does look like he's living it up, doesn't he? ;)
Everything was colored with copics.  The "sand" portion was done with a floral stencil I had and various shades of yellow, orange, and pink Tim Holtz inks.
I usually do your "normal" sand but wanted to jazz it up a bit.  I think it worked pretty well!
I lined up the sentiment using my Mini Misti and then added some seed beads and sequins to finish off the card.
No sun here today.  Storms rolled in last night and apparently they are here to stay throughout the day.
*sigh* Guess that just means I'll have to craft...... ;)
Have a great day!!

Water Colored Ornament!

Good morning and happy Monday to you! It is cold and snowy here in Chicago! It makes me want to cozy up in my home and craft! But duty calls and I need to get my booty to work....ugly Christmas sweater and all! ;)  I found a bit of "me" time this weekend and created several ornaments.
This one uses a die from Spellbinders called, Heirloom Ornaments.  I used Tim Holtz inks on the smaller ornament piece in shades of orange, yellow, and red.

I then layered a Tim Holtz stencil over both pieces and applied texture paste.  I sprinkled it with glitter while it was still wet.  I used Scrapbook Adhesives foam tape between layers for a bit of dimension.  I added a Just Rite Poinsettia die cut to the top.  It was given a wash of color with my Zig Water color markers.  I added a big white pom pom to the center and couple of jingle bells.
I added an SRM sentiment as my finishing touch.  I love seeing all of the ornaments I've made through the years decorate the tree!  (Among my kids' homemade ornaments that they made me as little ones!)

Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for stopping by today!

Give Thanks....

Good morning!
Today's card is my last fall card for the year.
Then you will see lots of snowmen, ornaments, and Christmas trees!
I used a Tim Holtz stencil and inks to create the background.  I added white veins to the leaves using white gel pen.  I spritzed it with Goosebumpz spray to add "water" droplets. SRM's sentiment from Live Life/Calendar Year was perfect for this card.  Gold sequins and sheer ribbon finished it off.
My kiddos are still sleeping......and love that they are both home in their own beds.
My heart is complete.
Today I will have a full house, good food, and a warm house to share with my family.
I am so incredibly grateful for all that I have, (including you! and this wonderful hobby!)
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Heartfelt Thanks! (Pie Box #2)

Good morning!  I have take two on these fun pie boxes I found at the Dollar Spot at Target!  Since Halloween has come and gone, I moved on to the next holiday....Thanksgiving!
I stamped this cute image from Hampton Arts on a tag and colored it with my Copic Markers.  The pie box was given a bit of interest with a stencil from Tim Holtz. I added a doily, ribbon, and a few sequins to finish it off.
I love your visits and appreciate you stopping by!
Thanks for making me a part of your day!

Resurrecting Old Supplies and Using Them With New Ones!

Created by Michele Kovack
I have had so much more time in my craft room this week and am completely loving it!  It's been a long time since I've been able to craft consistently.  I've been reviewing my older stamps and came across this cute little watermelon and sentiment. The watermelon image is from Hambo stamps (circa 2002!).  Remember this company?  ;)  And the sentiment is from A Muse.
I am not sure how true the sentiment is....but we'll roll with it!

I stenciled the sun using Tim Holtz inks in yellows.  I added a shadow using gray Copics. The watermelon was colored and then I added a bit of grass and green stippling. I stamped the sentiment and popped it up vertically. I added a few sequins and a bit of yellow twine

Life hasn't been a breeze for this little cutie.
She had to have emergency surgery on Thursday to take out a very large bladder stone. She is doing much better now, but not too happy about having to wear this cone!  I did end up going to Pet Smart to buy a soft one, but couldn't resist taking her picture first!

Thank you for hanging out with me for a bit today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Life is Good and Post Fourth of July Hangover!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning! How was your holiday weekend?
Mine was filled with family and friends! Friday night, Saturday, and Monday we had company.  AND we managed to swim with Cortney every single day she was home! Yesterday I was pretty tired from all of the socializing, swimming, eating, and drinking the occasional cocktail.... ;)
So that explains my lack of posts!
So today, I am back into my normal routine and have a card on the SRM blog.
Created by Michele Kovack
I used a stencil and Tim Holtz distress inks for the background as well as the shaker portion of the card.  I used this adorable sticker from SRM called, We've Got Your Sticker Plus/Birdie as the focal point of my card....along with the sentiment.  I used lots of adhesive foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to adhere everything.  A few sequins and a bit of twine finished off the card.

I am so excited to announce that next week my husband and I are going on our first vacation alone in 23 years!  We are heading to San Francisco for 5 days!  He has planned a jam packed week complete with Sonoma Valley Wine tour, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, The Wharf, Bus tour.....
I have my camera ready....so be prepared for an onslaught of pictures! ;)
Thank you for stopping by today!!!

Welcome Little One!

I totally forgot to post this last card I had created for JustRite's November release! The set is called, Arriving Soon, and is perfect for the arrival of a new little human!
I created the background with a dot stencil and Tim Holtz inks in purples and blues.
Created by Michele Kovack
I cut the stars out using my Spellbinder's die, lining it with a piece of acetate, using foam tape around the perimeter, and filling it was sequins.  I stamped the moon with black ink and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I used the extra star behind the moon.  It was glittered using glossy accents.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum using Staz On ink.  I added silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store.

I have to keep this short and sweet today as I am writing this before I head to work!
:)
Have a wonderful day my friends!
Thanks for keeping me company!
