Faculty Openings

Middle School Math Faculty (7/8th Grade)

This position is a full-time faculty appointment to teach four sections of Middle School math, either pre-algebra, algebra, or both, in seventh and eighth grade for the 2026-2027 academic year. CWA’s math program balances conceptual understanding and procedural fluency with effective application and connection-making. Strong candidates will have experience preparing students for the next stage of their math education and feel confident gathering data, identifying needs, and designing extensions or interventions.

Upper School English Faculty

This position is a full-time faculty appointment to teach four sections of high school English for the 2026-27 academic year. Faculty can teach any combination of the above courses, and flexibility to teach more than one level is expected. Successful candidates will have experience teaching across the full range of high school English courses and will be passionate about introducing students to a diverse array of texts and authors. They should inspire students to read critically, analyze deeply, and engage in thoughtful, open discussion. Our curriculum encompasses classic stories, novels, and plays, as well as contemporary memoirs, poetry, and graphic novels. We strive to emphasize new forms and ideas with any text and create communities of thoughtful readers and writers fluent across a variety of writing styles. We value flexibility and collaboration, regularly updating our texts to explore how reading and writing evolve in the classroom.

Substitute Teacher

Although we do not have an immediate need, we are currently accepting applications for substitute teachers for all grade levels, and especially those with experience in Spanish, French, and Japanese languages, performing arts, science, and math. We are also in high need of substitute teachers who are Merit Certified to work with our 3 & 4-year-old program. Substitute Teaching offers a flexible schedule and is an excellent way to work with great students and their families while achieving a work/life balance customized for you, stay active in your field, or experience independent school teaching.
