More Flexible Loyalty Rewards & Subscription Reliability Fixes

💎 Improvements

  • More flexible loyalty reward redemption: Subscribers can now choose how they want to use loyalty discount rewards. When redeeming an incentive, they can either apply it directly to their next subscription order or copy the discount code to use on a new purchase at checkout, giving customers more flexibility in how they use the rewards they’ve earned.

🪲 Fixes

  • Subscription exports now include Program Name: We fixed an issue where the subscription program name was visible in the admin portal but missing from exported subscription data. Exports now correctly include the program name column, keeping downloaded data consistent with what merchants see in Smartrr.

  • Sequential Flows now swap products more reliably: We fixed an intermittent issue where some subscriptions using Sequential Flows did not swap to the correct product at the configured step. Product swaps will now be applied consistently as subscriptions progress through their sequence.

  • Discount codes now appear correctly on Shopify subscription orders: We fixed an issue where a subscription discount could be applied correctly to the order total but the associated discount code was missing from the Shopify order. Shopify orders will now include the discount code used, keeping discount reporting and order data accurate.

More Control Over Subscription Revenue & Recovery

✨ New

  • Bulk Subscription Price Updates: Merchants can now safely update existing subscription prices in bulk when product prices change in Shopify. Smartrr detects relevant price changes, shows affected subscriptions in a new Bulk Updates flow, and lets merchants choose whether to apply the new price or keep subscribers on their existing grandfathered pricing.
  • New Payment Recovery analytics: Get a clearer view of subscription billing health with our new Payment Recovery analytics in Advanced Analytics. Merchants can now track payment success and failure rates, see how much revenue is at risk, understand how often failed payments are recovered through retries, and follow these trends over time.

💎 Improvements

  • Cancellation webhook now includes Customer Notes: Smartrr’s subscription cancellation webhook now includes the customer’s free-text cancellation note in the webhook payload. Merchants and partners can now capture the additional context customers provide when cancelling and use it in their own reporting, analytics, retention workflows, or downstream integrations.

Cancellation & Subscription Management Enhancements

✨ New

  • Create richer cancellation experiences with Cancellation Intercepts: Merchants can now add a Cancellation Intercept before subscribers enter the cancellation flow, creating an additional opportunity to prevent churn. The customizable popup can include an image or video, headline, and supporting copy, giving merchants more room to reinforce product value, educate subscribers, or address common concerns before they cancel. Subscribers can then choose to keep their subscription or continue with cancellation, while merchants can enable or disable the intercept independently from their existing cancellation reasons and retention offers.

💎 Improvements

  • Easier to access subscription actions: We’ve made subscription management faster and easier by bringing key actions directly onto the Next Order and Subscription cards in the Customer Account Portal. Subscribers can now access actions like skipping or delaying an order, swapping items, updating their address, payment method or delivery frequency, pausing, gifting, and cancelling without first opening the Manage Next Order or Manage Subscription menus. Action visibility will continue to follow existing theming settings and subscription rules, so subscribers only see the options available to them.

🪲 Fixes

  • Fixed recurring subscription order tags: We fixed an issue where some recurring subscription orders were incorrectly being tagged as Subscription First Orderinstead of Subscription Recurring Order. Recurring orders will now receive the correct tag consistently, helping ensure that Shopify automations, campaigns, and workflows that rely on these tags target the right orders.

Pricing Accuracy and Customer Portal Fixes

🪲 Fixes

  • Fixed incorrect pricing when changing subscription delivery frequency: We fixed an issue where some subscribers could see their subscription price change to an incorrect amount after updating their delivery frequency. For example, a subscription priced at 68 CAD/month could change to 69.36 CAD when the customer selected a different frequency, even though that price was not configured on the Shopify product.
  • Fixed “View portal as customer” for new Shopify Customer Accounts: Merchants using Shopify’s new Customer Accounts can now open a customer’s account portal through the View portal as customer option.
  • Correct recurring billing intervals on product pages: Fixed an issue where some products configured with a four-week subscription plan incorrectly displayed the recurring subtotal as “every week.” Product pages now show the correct billing interval, for example, “Then [PRICE] every 4 weeks”, giving customers accurate subscription details before purchase.

Subscriber Portal Date Clarity + Subscription Stability Fixes

💎 Improvements

  • Year now shown on next order dates: We’ve updated the Subscriber Portal to include the year on upcoming subscription order dates. Customers will now see dates like â€œSaturday, May 16th, 2026” instead of only the month and day, making future orders clearer and reducing confusion for subscriptions scheduled far in advance.
  • Preserve Next Order Date When Subscription Frequency Changes: When shoppers update a subscription’s delivery frequency, we’ll now keep their existing “next order” date exactly as-is whenever possible—including any custom date they previously set—so it won’t be silently recalculated during the frequency change.

🪲 Fixes

  • Expired discount validation for subscription orders: We fixed an issue where expired Shopify discount codes could still be applied to future subscription orders in some cases. Smartrr now more reliably validates discount expiration dates before applying discounts to subscription-generated orders, helping prevent outdated incentives from being used after their intended end date.

Multi-currency Updates & Billing Clarity

💎 Improvements

  • Fixed discount update: Fixed discount pricing now defaults to your shop’s currency, including discounted prices.
  • Failed billing as cancellation reason: Added a clearer cancellation reason when a subscription is automatically cancelled after failed billing you’ll now see “Failed billing” in the cancellation reason table on the retention page.

🪲 Fixes

  • Saved by integration currency: SavedBy now uses the subscription’s currency, ensuring package protection is shown in the customer’s local currency instead of always USD.
