600 seats for one of the toughest days in European triathlon. 🏁 Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz pushes long-distance athletes to their limit. And it brings thousands of spectators who came for one thing: the moment someone crosses that line. NUSSLI built the place where that moment happens. Grandstands for 600 people, a VIP platform, and a platform in the start zone. All of it from our system material. Up for the race, down afterward, back into inventory for the next event. For the first time in its history, the Gurtenfestival drew more than 100,000 people up the mountain. 🏔️ The 43rd edition closed with 104,750 visitors after daily capacity was raised to 27,000. Two of the four days sold out. 💫 Everything those people danced on, queued at, and gathered around was temporary: the main stage, the tent stage, the forest stage, FOH platforms and delay towers, VIP areas, entrances, food stands, shower platforms at the campsite. We've been building the Gurten's event infrastructure every summer since 2003. And now it's gone. Dismantled, loaded, back into stock, on its way to the next project. That's the discipline: build it to carry 27,000 people a day, then take it down so the mountain is a mountain again. ♻️ Next July the festival turns 50 and runs five days. 105,000 fans, three days at Grosse Allmend — and a stage unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. 😎 The 39th Openair Frauenfeld has come to a close. From July 9 to 11, Europe’s largest hip-hop festival took place in Frauenfeld, drawing 41,000 visitors on Saturday alone. 🎤 New this year: the La Fabrik Dome. A two-story, circular experience stage at the back of the grounds, where the music played well into the early morning hours. We’ve been helping First Event AG (Openair Frauenfeld) set up the festival in Frauenfeld since its first edition in 1985 — stages, VIP areas, pedestrian bridges, and video platforms. Setup takes about a month; takedown takes just a few weeks. Sixteen performances, nearly sold out. Now the square in front of Worms Cathedral is almost empty again. 💫 The Nibelungen Festival has been played at the original setting of the saga since 2002, and every summer we build it up from scratch: the main grandstand, the acoustic barrier behind it, and the substructure carrying the stage set. 🎭️ The barrier is the part no one in the audience notices. That's exactly its job. It makes an open-air evening with a live band possible in the middle of the city. For this year's “Die Hunnenkönigin,” set designer Sean Turner took his cue from Shakespeare's Globe and put part of the audience even closer to the stage. Now it comes apart.
