ProtocolVersion
Specifies the version of the Redis Serialization Protocol (RESP) that the provider uses to communicate with Redis.
Possible Values
RESP2, RESP3Data Type
string
Default Value
"RESP2"
Remarks
Redis supports two versions of the RESP wire protocol. This property controls which version the add-in negotiates when it opens a connection. Choose one of the following values:
- RESP2: The classic protocol, compatible with every supported Redis server version. This is the default and preserves the existing behavior of the add-in.
- RESP3: The newer protocol introduced in Redis 6, negotiated at connect time using the HELLO command. RESP3 is a superset of RESP2 that adds richer server reply types, including maps, sets, doubles, booleans, and null.
Set this property to RESP3 only when you connect to a Redis server that supports the HELLO command (Redis 6.0 or later). Selecting RESP3 against an earlier server causes the connection to fail.
