A very special birthday, two of two!

This is Kenny's card from us, Grampy (Grumpy lol) and Granny! Again it is an 8"x8" scalloped card blank, this time a blue card mat, and some more of that English Paper Company paper in a sort of patchwork. Again I used a Bugaboo image called Birthday Monster Sign, coloured with Promarkers and die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities, with a bit of outside the box. I wrote on the balloons, and die cut a number 2 with  a Sizzix Shadow Box number die. I also used a Pollycraft little boy in monster costume which I coloured with Promarkers. Pollycraft ceased trading last year so you can't purchase this digi. 

The silhouette ribbon I used this time is the Dinosaur one, available from Crafty Ribbons in many colours.

I cut Kenny out with an old Zipemate alphabet die set, and mounted the letters on a panel cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities.

 This time I used yellow Papermania starts paper....

......and another Pollycraft digi, also coloured with Promarkers. He is s cute monster about to tuck into cake!

A very special birthday card, one of two

Yes Kenny is TWO on Saturday! This card is from Mother in Law, Kenny's Great Nanny. I used an 8"x8" scalloped card blank. I created a panel using red card, and different papers which I think are English Paper Company - the cover was missing so I will update this if I find it and I am wrong. The pack included a circus paper that went perfectly with the Bugaboo Clown numbers -Two image. I coloured the image with Promarkers and added some glitter glue to the top of the candle, die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities and matted it onto red. I used one of my new silhouette ribbons, I thought horses went with the horse on the circus paper. I won a huge bag full of silhoutte ribbons from Crafty Ribbons recently.

Happy Birthday words are from a Spellbinders die set, I didn't expect it to be a debossing die set before I got it home and looked properly. Kenny is cut out with dies from a Quickuzt set.

Inside the card, just blue stars and this is Papermania paper.

I won this huge bag of ribbons, lucky me!

A Quirky Reminder

Another funny fairy frog by Dustin Pike to remind you there is one week to go to enter the "Things with Wings and Clouds" challenge at Quirky Crafts. I coloured the frog with Promarkers (I love the jar of fireflies), and cut the panels with Nestabilities. I found this paper in my box which I think is by English Paper Company but I could be wrong. I cut my vellum clouds with a Sizzix Framelets die from the cupcake set, it is the icing die! Letters and flowers are cut with Quickutz Lifestyle dies.

I hope to add a couple more examples soon, one of these depends on me sorting out the printer which involves surgical gloves, syringes and some special Magic Bullet liquid, oh and a couple of hours and lots of mess. If it works I should be able to print off the only image we haven't shown you yet and make another card.

Baby boy cards

This is the sum total of two days crafting, though there are a couple part done, and all of these need an insert, bagging up and pricing. I have used these Spellbinders die cuts before but on a 6"x 6" card, 145 x 145 cm? and it was a challenge using these 135x135cm cards. I have to use these because I am out of the larger cello bags!
This was the last card I made, ribbon from Crafty Ribbon, button teddy.

It took 3 cards to realise it would be easier to stitch a panel off the card and attach it afterwards!

 This was the second card I made, and I used two different DCWV papers, and an acrylic etched tag which I have had for ages, no idea if you can still get them. I also added a nappy with pin and Boy, and I don't know where they came from either, but I would like to get some more if I can, or maybe I can make them up myself.

This was the first card I made, DCWV Boy, a noise with dirt on it paper, I love this paper! Added some baby buttons, shanks removed. Another acrylic tag and some ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

This was the 3rd card I made this time with Dovecraft paper, another nappy pin and ABC buttons, and Baby die cut and embossed with Pink Lemonade embosslits by Sizzix.

All die cuts have been coloured through the die with Denim Promarker. Right - back to work!

A Man's World

I made this card a while back, but didn't get to finish it due to the flu. I finally finished and photographed it.

 As soon as we made this type of card for a challenge I thought of this English Paper Company paper which was perfect for this. Front of card - busy man, gardening, BBQ, DIY. Sentiments are by Debbi Moore (the square Happy Birthday) from an A4 clear stamp set of Birthday sentiments. The seed packet stamp is from a small set by Personal Impressions, all small garden type stamps.

I tried to get the inside paper more focused and this is the best I could manage.

Inside the card - man sleeping, so tired after all his efforts, does it remind you of anyone? It certainly rings true here!

A sketch challenge by Quirky Lyn

Yes it is one of Lyn's sketches this time round, and the sponsor is Bugaboo (Lyn's personal favourite).

For my first card I used Lilies from Bugaboo, a hand drawn image which is lovely. I wanted to keep the delicate blooms as the focal point so hunted for some papers to do this, the striped paper was a freebie with Crafts Beautiful magazine, the butterflies are an English Paper Company paper. I coloured the lilies with Promarkers and Trias and then painted the petals with Artists Iridescent Medium for a sparkly finish. I added some organza ribbon and some pretty pearl brads and stamped For You o the paper, the sketch is flipped for this one.

 My second example is an Easter card featuring Eggbert Bunny  from Bugaboo- so cute! Again coloured with Promarkers and Trias, and cut with Nestabilities ovals and scalloped ovals, and the papers are freebies from Crafts Beautiful magazine. Blooms, ribbons, bows, pearls and Happy Easter stamp are by Papermania. Eyelets from stash.

 My third card is a masculine doggy one, and I used Oz Toto  from Bugaboo on this one, with papers and stickers by Boxer Scrapbook Productions, and the Papers are called Woof Words.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a bone sticker, and the stamp is from a clear set by Hero Arts of birthday greetings. I searched everywhere for the bone eyelets only to find them in the first place I looked. Do you like the bone shaped paperclip? I don't know who it is by (It might be Queen and Co but I can't be sure). Toto is coloured with Promarkers, and I particularly like him because he is just like Alfie dog.

First signs of Spring

It is definitely Spring like here today, in fact it is almost like Summer with the lovely warm sun for a change.
The challenge is on at Quirky Crafts, and you need to make a double Z fold card or a 3d project with hidden element of Spring which was set by Diane who regularly challenges us to do some paper engineering! A link to instructions on how to make this card is on the Quirky Crafts Challenge blog.

I made a double z fold card a long time ago and so I had to use the instructions, even then it took me several attempts to work out the best way of making this, and ending up with straight edges that met in the middle! I used my Fiskars rotary trimmer with the scoring blade, and I eventually worked out it was best to have the bulk of the card on the trimmer bed, so that it didn't skew. The sponsor this time is The Stamping Boutique, and you can win 5 lovely digi images from them. I used digi images from The Stamping Boutique called  Spring, and Cynthia Fairy and the Carrot Thief. The papers are by The English Paper Company, and all images are coloured with Trias and Promarkers. I die cut Spring with a Nestabilities labels die and added a Lakeland flower - Lakeland don't do them now. I added some wide organza ribbon in pale green, I think it was from Ribbon Oasis. I may add Happy Birthday or Happy Mother's day to the card at a later date when I decide what it is for.

Beer Monster Card

It is my Son's birthday tomorrow and I made this card using English Paper Company paper, chipboard letters, a free digi download of the beer monster from Pollycraft which I love, so thanks for the great freebie Pollycraft. Monster is coloured with Promarkers, and finally I used a foiled birthday sentiment that I won from a magazine for my card that was featured ages ago and some frog eyelets. I hope he likes it, happy birthday Son!
