OLD CALF CHUTE

Dusty found this old calf chute and he thought it was pretty neat.  He was amazed at all the old stuff we found around.  He wants to bring this home and put it in our yard somewhere.  The place we bought use to be wheat fields and they have left a lot of their old equipment there.  I don't know how you would ever get it off the property but it is some really neat, old stuff around.

MORE COLORADO PICTURES

We were waiting for them to let the horses out of the corrals.  It seemed like we waited forever.  The boys were getting tired of it so we decided to take pictures.  Range is learning to speak very well.  He can say 3 and 4 words together.  I was taking pictures of Rayce and Wayke and he kept saying "I mile" or "cheeeeeese" - which means he wants his pictures taken.  He is still on the bottle and he has it to me and says "more mik" and then follows with "dank do mom".  How can I take the bottle away when he says it that cute?  He now knows he can ask his brothers for "mik" and they will give it to him.

CELLAR AND RANGE

There is a cellar type thing at the cabin.  The boys were standing in front of it.  The ceiling and walls look like they may cave in at anytime.  I thought for sure we would find hidden treasures inside of it.  I was wrong, there was only barbed wire!

THE CABIN

These are pictures of the cabin.  Rayce has a really hard time with the fact that the bathroom is an outhouse!  It is pretty interesting - there are two toilet seats inside.  I don't know why 2 people would go inside together???  The shed next to the cabin is the shower with the hot water heater on the outside... very interesting set up to say the least! There is a loft inside the cabin and the boys think that part is amazing.  It hasn't been lived in for years so there is A LOT of cleaning to say the least.  Dusty is going to start building corrals and so I will start cleaning.  It is already fully furnished with 7 beds and every kitchen item you could ever need - including a 12" TV! 

WEEKEND IN COLORADO

We spent the last weekend in Colorado.  The boys don't understand why we can't move there.  All day we ride four-wheelers, play in the water, drive around, herd cows, and EAT!  There is not much cleaning, yard work, and best of all - phone calls (There is no phone servce).  We are able to just enjoy life and sit back and relax.  There are so many things to explore.  We went to the cabin this time and the boys loved it.  They think it needs cleaned before they will stay in it though :)  The "big event" of Maybell, CO is the Horse Run.  They move about 800 head of horses from their winter range to the summer range which goes right by our house.  The picture of Dusty and I is when they are passing our place.  The picture of the boys is when they are in back of the truck waiting for them to let the horses out of their coral to start going.  The picture of Dusty and Stewart is them irrigating the hay fields.
