First T-Ball Game

Rayce had his first t-ball game yesterday. To say the least, it didn't go so good. He had talked about it all day long and couldn't wait to go. As soon as we pulled in, he starting crying. Not whining - full out CRYING. We got his shirt on him and thought he would calm down. NOPE - wrong - kept crying. He played out field and CRIED and CRIED. He batted - and CRIED. Dusty had to run to each base with him. (Good thing Dusty was a good sport and just kept encouraging him) Then he went back to the out field and like a switch, stopped. He had fun in the out field. He batted and hit the ball almost to 2nd base without the tee. (So why is it called t-ball???) He even ran the bases by himself! This morning he said "mom, I can't wait for my second t-ball game." I asked him why he cried and he said because he was scared the other team was going to win him... He has another game tomorrow so I hope he does better!

I read this on my sister, Staci's, blog. (I hope you don't hate me for stealing it - at least I gave you credit!!!) I love this poem - so cute and true.

Babies Don't Keep

I hope that my child looking back on today,

remembers a mother who had time to play.

Children grow up while we're not looking.

There'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking.

So cobwebs be quiet and dust go to sleep.

I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Ogden Half Marathon

I ran a half marathon yesterday in Ogden. It was the best race I have ever ran. It was very pretty, cool, and down hill. We ran down the Ogden Canyon. My cousin, Jason, ran the full marathon. It was so fun to see someone finish it. If you have never been to the finish of a marathon - you should. It actually is very emotional and inspiring! I would highly recommend running the Ogden Marathon and not Salt Lake - I can't brag on it enough. I really enjoyed it.

I ran it in 1:59. I was very happy to be under 2 hours. (Even if it was only by a minute.) I took 573 out of 1852 runners. I also was the 266 women to come in out of 1193. I had a great time and can't wait to do it next year!!!

A thanks to Aunt Nancy for letting me stay at her house. (And watching Ridge while I ran). I went out Friday night. We stayed up until 1:30 am and I had to get up at 3:50 am to make it to the bus on time. To say the least, I didn't have much sleep. Then, I decided to stay another night so I could get some rest before I came home. Well that didn't happen. We stayed up until after 1:00 am and Ridge woke up around 6:50 am. It is just to fun at Nancy's house to go to bed. Most her kids came over and we talked and talked and talked!!! (Thanks McKellar Family - I had a blast out there!!!)

IT'S FRIDAY

We love Fridays - and especially warm Fridays...

Grandpa Stewart came over today and took the boys for a four-wheeler ride. They love to go with Grandpa and help him. Wayke has asked me all day to ride the four-wheeler so Grandpa saved the day and took him for a ride.
They stopped and threw rocks into the pond.
Wayke is growing fast and learning so much. He talks better and better everyday. He has a cute personallity. Grandpa Stewart thinks he can do no wrong. He is a fun kid. His favorite place to be is anywhere with his dad. As long as his dad is around, he is happy.
Rayce is also learning so much. Everytime he hears a new word he has to ask what it means. Sometimes it takes forever to explain. He loves to ride his four-wheeler and is starting to ride horses. He talks all the time about going to school, he can't wait. Tonight his dad is taking him fishing. He is taking a friend and keeps asking how much longer until his dad wil lbe home.

Ridge is also growing fast. He smiles alot and is trying so hard to sit up. He hasn't quite figured out the concept yet. He still doesn't have a hair on his head. The more weight he gains, the more he looks like a little Olsen baby. The poor kid sleeps on the floor in our bedroom. I make him a little bed every night. Wayke still has to be in the crib or he sneaks out all night long. (So I still need Wayke to have the crib) He is getting more and more personallity each day. He took a 5 1/2 nap today. I really appreciate that!!! He doesn't even sleep that long straight during the night...

WARM UP, PLEASE!!!

Well, since it is still cold - there hasn't been much to blog about. Everyday I could post a new picture of my kids watching TV. Today we have been able to go outside. We mowed the lawn, tilled the garden, and watered ALL the trees. (We have planted about 20) That takes about an hour to do!!! Dusty surprised me with fruit trees for Mothers Day. I am so excited -I LOVE fruit trees. Now, I just have to wait about 5 years for them to produce fruit!!! Tonight we are going to plant the garden - hope it doesn't freeze. Rayce loves to plant the garden and watch the vegtables grow. He always talks about doing it last year. This weekend I am going to MFA Nancy's to stay. I running a 1/2 marathon on Saturday. I can't wait to go up and visit with her and her family. We usually stay up until the early morning hours. We have been known to go to Denny's around 2:00 am. It is always fun at Nancy's house!!! Other than that - not much is going on. Dusty did change jobs - he bought a skid steer and is doing excavating work in the oilfield. He loves operating heavy equipment. But now I have to get up at 5:30 am and make a lunch!!! I do get a lot done before my kids get up though!

Dusty took the boys riding horses a couple weeks ago. Rayce has showed some interest - so Dusty was happy to help him. Rayce thought he should be able to ride by himself though - and I am not ready for that.
