Proton Intelligence announces Dr. Bill Hunter as Board Chair As Proton Intelligence enters its next phase of growth, we are pleased to formally share that Dr. Bill Hunter has been serving as Board Chair of Proton Intelligence. Bill brings a rare combination of physician insight, founder-led operating experience, and deep expertise building sensor-enabled medtech businesses. His appointment reflects the transition Proton is making — from technology development toward clinical adoption, and from a novel sensing platform toward a category-defining continuous monitoring product. As Proton advances its Continuous Potassium Monitoring (CKM) platform, Bill’s perspective is especially valuable in shaping the disciplines that matter most at this stage: product strategy, clinical evidence generation, partnerships, and commercialization. Just as importantly, he has built thriving companies in areas where the value of continuous physiological data is real, differentiated, and clinically meaningful. “Bill has repeatedly demonstrated how to build and scale breakthrough medical technologies, creating entirely new markets and care paradigms along the way,” said Sahan Ranamukhaarachchi, Founder and CEO of Proton Intelligence. “His experience turning sensor-driven innovations into real clinical infrastructure is exactly what Proton needs at this stage. His leadership will be invaluable as we grow the company and build what we believe will become the electrolyte intelligence category.” “Proton is working on a problem with the potential to change how care is delivered,” said Dr. Hunter. “Medicine is moving toward a world where care is increasingly sensor-enabled. Entire ecosystems will emerge around those sensors and the data they generate. What stood out to me about Proton is that the electrolyte node in that ecosystem doesn’t yet exist. Building that capability could become extremely valuable infrastructure for the future of care, and that’s why I was excited to join the board.” We look forward to connecting with investors, partners, and fellow medtech leaders at LSI this week.

Hospitals and Health Care
Providing continuous, real-time, and accurate biomarker monitoring to better manage chronic disease and save lives.
About us
At Proton Intelligence, we are building the first real-time, continuous potassium monitoring wearable, allowing clinicians to treat and manage kidney disease patients more safely and precisely. Life-saving treatments that cannot be deployed when patients have dangerous K+ levels today will be unlocked for safe and optimal use.
