The Market Surveillance Panel (MSP) has submitted to the OEB a report presenting its initial observations on real-time locational prices between May 2025 to April 2026. The MSP notes that in the first year of locational marginal pricing, congestion in Ontario is highly localized, aligns directionally with expectations and thus far appears to be enhancing price transparency and providing greater visibility into the drivers of price differences between areas within the province. Accurate locational pricing will inform investment decisions and can result in a more efficient market for Ontario. Le Comité de surveillance du marché (CSM) a soumis à la Commission de l’énergie de l’Ontario (CEO) un rapport présentant ses observations initiales sur les prix locaux en temps réel entre mai 2025 et avril 2026. Le CSM note que, lors de la première année de tarification marginale locale, la congestion en Ontario est fortement localisée, correspond globalement aux attentes et semble jusqu’à présent améliorer la transparence des prix tout en offrant une meilleure visibilité sur les facteurs expliquant les différences de prix entre les régions de la province. Une tarification locale précise permettra d’éclairer les décisions d’investissement et pourra contribuer à rendre le marché ontarien plus efficace. Time-of-Use Alert: Civic Holiday Off-Peak Pricing As we approach Civic Holiday, remember that Monday, August 3, 2026, is a designated holiday under Ontario's Time-of-Use (TOU) pricing. Alerte concernant l’heure de la consommation : tarification en période creuse lors du congé civique À l’approche du congé civique, n’oubliez pas que le lundi 3 août 2026 est un jour férié désigné dans le cadre de la tarification selon l’heure de la consommation de l’Ontario. Qu’est-ce que cela veut dire? • Pour les clients bénéficiant des tarifs selon l’heure de la consommation, la tarification en période creuse sera en vigueur toute la journée. • Pour les clients bénéficiant du tarif de nuit très bas (NTB), la tarification en période creuse la fin de semaine sera en vigueur de 7 h à 23 h et le tarif de nuit très bas sera en vigueur de 23 h à 7 h.
