Bob Iger and Josh Kushner just bought the Lakers, but there is a hidden family office story in here. The Buss family sold their remaining stake, not because they chose to sell first, but because four of six siblings hit a vote threshold on a tag-along right, and once the trust crossed the league's 15% minimum, Jeanie Buss's governor's seat went with it. That's the part about sports ownership nobody prices in: the percentage isn't an input to a valuation, it's a key. It unlocks a board seat, a veto, a consent right, or forecloses all of it, and the number that decides your exit is rarely the dollar figure. We broke down how family offices are buying into franchises at record prices, how minority stakes actually work under league rules, and why selling a stake is nothing like selling a stock. Welcome to MyFO, Benjamin Novakowski! Benjamin is joining us as a Client Support Specialist. He'll focus on client relationships, helping people get their issues resolved quickly and clearly. He previously worked as a Senior Client Success Manager, where he saw firsthand how much of a difference it makes when support actually solves the problem instead of just logging it. That's what specifically pulled him toward support work. What drew him to this side of the business is the people side of it, not just the technical or process piece. He's passionate about untangling problems and getting people to a real resolution. We're really glad to have him on the team. Welcome to the team, Benjamin!

A national bank thought it needed better reporting, it actually needed a different system entirely. Investment advisors, private bankers, underwriters, and estate planning were all working off different versions of the same client. No shared view of entities, documents, or what was coming due. So instead of another aggregator, the bank picked MyFO, a full family office operating system that puts advisors, bankers, and clients in the same shared view. Result: the first client onboarded through MyFO brought $20M in new AUM within 3 days. Only 17% of HNW clients say their wealth experience feels seamless (Capgemini, 2026). The fix isn't more data. It's one shared system. Full story in the comments. #FamilyOffice #WealthManagement

Congratulations to Michael Muniz Dennis Mangalindan, the Canoe Intelligence team and it's investors David Jegen! Great product, great team, and one of the best partners we’ve worked with. Bloomberg has agreed to acquire Canoe Intelligence, and it’s a big moment for private markets data. The industry has always treated private markets like the harder, messier cousin of public markets, even though it’s often where the real complexity lives. Getting that data right is what allows investors and family offices to actually see the full picture instead of guessing at it. For family offices this matters a lot. Most of the wealth we see isn’t just fund positions, it’s direct deals, real estate, and operating companies too. That’s exactly why we’ve made sure MyFO covers more than just LPs, because better data across the whole picture is what actually leads to better decisions. Excited to see what’s next for Canoe under Bloomberg

Last week, a T. rex named "Gus" sold for $50.1 million at Sotheby's, part of a boom that's seen auction houses book close to $10 billion in the first half of 2026, with nearly half of Christie's new buyers being millennials or younger. So is this a smart investment or an expensive hobby? We broke down what's driving the boom, who's buying, and how to think about where an asset like this actually fits into a broader portfolio. Three lenders. Two joint ventures. A handful of LP positions. And no single place to see it all. That was the problem for one real estate family office, until getting an LTV number stopped meaning days of pulling reports and reconciling them by hand. We broke down how they consolidated their entire portfolio on MyFO, loan renewals, insurance, cash flow, and capital calls, and what it changed for them: no more missed renewal windows, no more scrambling when a lender call comes in, and financing conversations that start from a position of strength instead of catch-up.
