UPDATE AND OBSERVATIONS OF CREATURES AND GARDEN FLOWERS.

Dear friends and fellow bloggers, you have all been so kind in sending warm encouraging comments and well wishes for my speedy recovery, thank you so much. For a while I felt as if I had grit in both eyes but was told that in time this would disapear, and it did .However I will still have to wear glasses for watching TV and at the computer. with  Progressive Lenses, I chose some really nice frames, but am still waiting for my new glasses to arrive, which should be within two or three days time, then I will be able to see much better. Pedro's and my birthday were enjoyed by two birthday celebrations, instead of just one. My lovely daughter Eva gave me a new feeder to hang at the bird's feeding station. When it arrived and assembled it was a lot bigger than she had anticipated from looking at the picture in the catalogue and  she was so disappointed but I think that it  doesn't look that bad, and it is squirrel proof which was the main reason for Eva buying it.

Two photos to show where it hangs from, and also show the bottom of the feeder.

The squirrels step onto the loops and the mecanism closes the feeding places.

The roses around the entrance door gave a good show of blooms this year.

My large Hoya Carnoso came into flower for the first time since it was put outside on my balcony.

I am delighted with the many  blooms it has produced, and there are many in bud

The Trumpet Vine is now in full bloom.

Blue-tit

The Eurasian Jay.

 Partly hidden Eurasian Jay.

Sweet pose from this blue-tit.

Always a pleasure to see a robin.

Female great-tit

This wily squirrel is on it's way to the feeder

The Blackbird used to come every day whilst feeding it's chicks. Haven't seen it since.

The Boganvilla gave a wonderful display of flowerrs this year.

The Agapanthus are a lovely shade of blue and so are the Hydrangeas.

The March Frog in the pond.

Two Newts

A  Dachshund metal boot scraper

Fig leaves are so decorative.

Out of focus female Great Spotted Woodpecker. She comes to my balcony every day.

The Great-tit with a peanut in it's beak

Thank goodness it rained last night, as the temperature has been unbearable, in the high thirties making doing nothing feel exausting.  I was postrate for most of the time. It is still 35 deg outside on the balcony but it seems like a respite after almost 40 deg's I know that we will have to get used to this extreme heat as it's our future
however physically draining  and debilitating it may be.This post was done over a period of a few days but even so, my eyes are suffering the consequences,  they are tired and watery. I will visit you all as soon as i receive my new glasses.

I will be linking up to Saturday's Critters tyou will find the logo on the right, just click on it and it will take you there.

Delightful photos of the birds and others. I enjoyed seeing the flowers also. Happy Belated Birthday to you and Pedro. Your daughter’s birthday feeder is just what is needed for those naughty squirrels, a thoughtful gift. I am happy to read that you are feeling better. I have new glasses also. I developed double vision and had it for several months in between going to the doctors. Eventually I was diagnosed with an astigmatism so I now have prescription prism glasses that I will have to wear for the rest of my life. I feel blessed that they could fix my problem with these eye glasses. I wish you continued good health dear Sonjia and also wish you a very happy weekend. Thank you for all the lovely photos.

Dear Sonjia:)
I'm so happy to read that you can make a blogpost again. I hope you soon will be better. Lovely photos as always. You have many visitors on your balcony. The blue tit is so beautiful, and all your flowers too. Hoya carnosa has so nice flowers, and your agapanthus looks very pretty. I love them too. I put them in my basement during the winter, and some of them will bloom but not all of them.
Take care my dear friend.
Many warm hugs.
Marit

Dear Sonjia,
What a beautiful bird feeder you received from your daughter.
It looks quite sturdy, too.
I think the squirrel could climb on this as well; I love squirrels.
You have beautiful flowers and plants in your garden, and I find the various birds beautiful too.
I wish you a very good weekend; here it was code red yesterday and today due to the heat. People with respiratory complaints—including myself—are advised to stay indoors, so I am going to do that as well.
Yesterday it was 34 degrees Celsius here, something I have never experienced before.
All the best, Irma

...Sonjia, seeing your post and update this morning is a treat. The good new about your vision is good to hear. I have been reading about the extreme heat in Europe, stay cool and well. It looks like your new feeder is a Woodlink, I need to check it out, Squirrel are always raiding our feeders. Be well and happy!

Glad to hear that your eyes are now behaving, Sonjia, and that you are back in blogging mode. I am amazed that the dreadful heat you are experiencing permits you to do anything at all. I always tell people who express astonishment at our winters that I much prefer them to this debilitating heat. I can dress up and stay warm on the coldest day, but it is impossible to escape extreme (and dangerous) heat. The frogs and newts have the right idea - stay in the water! Hugs and kisses - David

It was so good to see this post, Sonjia. I am so impressed by your Hoya. Mine hasn't flowered in years. Stay cool if you can.

The details on your birds are especially fantastic. And I think that bird feeder will be terrific. I have had progressives for ages and I wouldn't do it any other way. It may take a week or so to adjust to them, but you'll be glad you did.

The pictures of the birds are absolutely adorable. They’re sure to be delighted with the new birdhouse, too.

It’s good news that your eyes are doing better now. You’ll have your new glasses soon, too—then you’ll be able to see your colorful array of flowers even better.

I'm so happy to hear you're recovering well! 😊 It must be such a relief that the discomfort in your eyes has improved, and I hope your new glasses arrive soon so you can enjoy everything even more. The new bird feeder sounds like a thoughtful birthday gift, and being squirrel-proof is definitely a bonus! Wishing you continued good health, many happy moments in the garden, and plenty of feathered visitors to enjoy. 🐦🌸

Your flowers are gorgeous, and since I am late to this post, I know you have your glasses and can see much better. I find that if I color for an hour on my coloring app, my eyes start to water a lot and burn too.
great idea on the birdbath keeping the food safe from the squirrels. we have about the same heat as you and high humidity and I stay inside as much as possible. It looks like your climate is very much like it is here in Florida. We have a thunder storm coming in right now and hoping we get some of the rain. we get the lightning and thunder but no rain.. So happy life is treating you well for now..
