Last Sunday, on the 14th December 2025, in the late afternoon during a Hanukkah celebration attended by approximately one thousand people, two gunmen shot at the crowd, killing 15 people, including a holocaust survivor, two rabbis, and a ten year old Matilda.
We are joined today by Michael Scott, an Australian Army veteran, previously Head of Military to the UN, Founder & CEO of The 2023 Foundation Ltd, a nascent global charity combating antisemitism, and author of A Light Still Burns: Israel and the Values Worth Defending.
Michael shares the importance of understanding the context and unbiased history of what happened in the past, and what we can all do to stand alongside our Jewish and Moslem communities, to push forward a unified and resilient Australia. I wish you all a safe holiday season.

It is my pleasure to end this season’s episodes with a conversation with my good friend, Ben Pronk. Ben is the Managing Partner of Mettle Global, one of the co-founders of The Resilience Shield, the co-host of the Unforgiving60 podcast, and an adjunct faculty at the University of New South Wales. We discussed all things about life, how to build resilience, and the topic of his upcoming book: how to find happiness, not despite, but with the full knowledge, that we’re all going to die in the end.

I had a lot of fun getting to know and chatting with Victoria O’Reilly, a Registered Nurse of oncology and palliative care unit, educator, agricultural health and wellness ambassador, and a mum of three. Vicki shared with us her journey of growing up in a military family, traveling the world as a cook before finding love and settling down in Zimbabwe, before civil unrest sent her back to the UK, to then finding a new home in Australia.
