Holyyyy, no NG posts in ~10 months? Wild.
TL;DR I'm back on NG, spent the latter 2025 working + studying art. Store opening later March/April.
Sorry for the lack of posts! I haven't stopped art or anything. It's probably the thing I've been thinking about the most last year.
Last I was on here, I did these F1 military characters. I thought they were ok, but finishing it? Struggled hard. I simply didn't have the fundamentals or workflow figured out to do something like that at a reasonable speed. I did too much character designing when I should be painting, and vice versa. So many things feel tacked on a result.
Basically- all the phases muddied into each other so the fun and output suffered. This was especially worse with my Sk8r Witch design. I'm very grateful people on twitter liked the design! Personally, I lowkey hated it LOL i didnt even upload it on NG until now.
But yea, all that to say my workflow, intention, and fidelity were lacking. So I spent the rest of 2025 studying realism to attempt to fix it
Here's a few from July-December 2025:

I didn't wanna uploaded these on here, cause my NG is for fully finished art. I like studies but they feel more like sketchbook stuff vs. a gallery.
Now, I've learned a lot about draftsmanship. I'm proud of what I've learned. Though I didn't spend time cultivating my voice. I love realism, but I fell into the fundies trap once again. I could draw more accurately to the reference, then when it came to actually executing original art, I couldn't do it. I didn't work as hard or spontaneously as I could've.
So I've been on a self-discovery hit lately. Quarter life crisis shit lmao.
But thankfully, I got to work on something that felt true to my voice. Won't share anything on that yet, but I can say it got me into a much better mindset. I was taking more inspiration from what I love, but I also got to push myself and discover what I love about design in my own art and others'.
So I thought, why not revisit the F1 idea? I still love the concept. Iterating on them would be easier than building characters from scratch. But it'd also be a good gauge of how much I've learned in character design and painting. Which isn't as much as I'd like, but I'll do it anyways. WIP Preview below.

I can say I'm designing more intentionally. There are still weaknesses obviously but it's a lot more cohesive imo. I tried to better define proportion, when to paint w/ sight vs. w/ form, the genre, etc.
I'm still working on the sets, but along with these uploads will be my ko-fi store launch!
You can expect character design files + hi-res and full design process sketches/insights. More details to follow.

Nothing on there yet, but tips are open if you'd like to support.
I'm also considering commissions, but no concrete plans until I've sorted my current projects out.
Lastly, the game I did animations for launched! Check it out if you've got a PS5.
That's it for now! Thanks for reading.
