First class over with. If one more professor brags that "we don't give out 4.0's" I will scream.
I understand not inflating grades, but I don't understand encouraging students to be mediocre, which is, in my opinion what they are doing. "A 3.0 is passing." Really, REALLY? So they've just adjusted the grading scale down.
There's also been much bragging about their national accreditation, I refrained from pointing out that I have a friend getting his counseling degree on line and that program has the same accreditation. Sometimes I can keep my mouth shut. It was hard to do.
The professor said, "When was the last time you asked your doctor or therapist what their grade point average was?" She pointed out that she graduated from the program with a 3.7, again, I didn't point out that twenty five years ago they probably had grade inflation... Bet no one gets more than a 3.6 in her class. Also, I'm asking my therapist and all my doctors what their GPA was...
Obsessing much? Argh
Also, omg what have I done.
