Semi-feral cats in the hood

I thought the tan one is also male, because I know (Bootsie) the little black one is...and the management had him fixed (as well as his calico sis) last year after they grew bigger than kittens.  But that fat little tummy on the tan is now skinny suddenly, so in the last week that cat had herself some kittens.  Not here, but somewhere in the woods in the neighborhood.  She sure needs to be fixed.  We heard that she's actually the mother of the other 2 cats.

These little guys were just walking down the sidewalk, and this was my view out the window.  No wonder my own cat like to sit in that window and watch the world go by.

The management is also feeding the two kittens (now cats) and perhaps the tan one has joined the family.

One of our residents was feeding (illegally) the kittens and they'd follow her around with her walker every day.  They could hear it coming, and would just appear out of the bushes.  She was able to touch them, and sometimes the black will come to me and let me pet him, but Cali, the girl, is still pretty shy.

Since the pet deposit is pretty high in our apartments, it's amazing how many people have dogs.  And I dare say a few cats, but they all stay inside like mine.

Moving boxes etc.

Moving wares around - simple crates were often used for moving produce, or pottery (wrapped often in strips of wood shavings).

I spent some time in 2007 with one of my first digital cameras capturing folks' cars' rear windows, which included some interesting things being carried around.

Many a spring day when living near a college will see bits of furniture being carted around.

Some interesting looking ladders as well as a big box in this pickup.  I especially like the red and white truck with the ad for some real estate saying on it's back panel to "Turn Right Here."

 All the folks who take dogs for a ride, will appreciate this "Fido" on display.

OK, this is a stretch from the theme of moving boxes, but many a Florida vehicle will have something that goes in the water attached to it.

Notice clothes on hangars in the window of this camping van.  Since I lived several times in my life in a van, I can appreciate that this tiny space did afford a place to hang clothes, but I put a curtain on my windows at least!

A barrel is just as good for moving things, especially liquids.  Did you remember what a barrel maker was called of old? A cooper. There's your trivia for today.

A utility repair van has everything squeezed in, utilizing all the space to have everything that can possibly be needed for the job.
