Glazes interacting with each other

 

My favorite interaction between the black and green...a mottled looking with fluidity that reminds me the melted chemicals were like glass, as these two glazes were molten when fired to 2232 degrees F.

Black, green and plum.  Mmm, great background for salad, cereal, fruit, pasta, or whatever!

Barb's Birds and Bees Part Two

Some places the glaze was too thin.
Some places the glaze was too thick.

I'm not very happy about this one.  I think all that time and work gives me only the satisfaction of knowing how to change the next one.  And if I don't take a hammer to it, it will be at most a "second."

Using regular glaze for the nutmeg brown, rather than stroke and coat, I made it too thin and too blobby on both the inside and exterior birds.  The ones inside got gobbled up by the blue thick glaze, including at least one which lost its head!

Ladybug crept into it

While I continue to heal, and I find that about an hour outside my home is my limit for ventures, I at least had some newer work at the Tailgate market this weekend.

Cough is slightly improving with lots of Musinex, and the steroid treatment is halfway finished...my itchy skin isn't so bad if I stay out of direct sunshine, the nervous feelings that even make my hands shake when trying to hold a book, my swollen tongue and awful taste in mouth...well, you know there are side-effects from drugs.  That this treatment for the coughing has negated the recent success I had treating another condition leaves me frustrated.   If you know what IBS is, then you know how very much it isn't fun to live with.  So I try not to whine...unless there's cheese to go with it and it's been chilled.

Fun and sales

 This was perhaps the funniest part of the Olympics opening ceremonies...well, when she jumped from the helicopter might have been the best part.

I was happy to sell this bowl, which looked really good with glaze.  Here it was just after being thrown.

Here it was with it's sister when glazed, waiting to be fired a final time.

It's the green one on the right which was sold.  The amber glossy brown is still waiting to go to a new home.
