Here is a sample of what I’ve created for our upcoming local altered artists group 4″x8″ Skinny Swap. The theme is *Love*.
It’s a small swap. It still amazes me how much time can go into a piece like this. I did have a really good time with them! It should be a fun swap, some talented gals are playing along.
The little Paper Whimsy girl is holding a foil covered valentine under her arm. We have been saving the foil from the flimmersterne as we nibble away at the chocolate centers.
Here is some of what went into making these collages: Stamp pad inks, 7 Gypsies color washes, book pages, fancy tissues, paper doily, champagne caps (tapped into shape by my blacksmith hubbie), embossing powder, vintage hand colored posey….oh and a favorite new ingredient: cigar paper strips, it’s what they glue on the edges of the cigar boxes to cover the seams. I wish I could remember where I ordered those.
I used heavy watercolor paper as the base. The back of the skinny is a little washed out on the scan.
My inspiration began with this quote: “What will survive of us is Love” ~ Philip Larkin
