Murder Notes

I cant decide whether i want to give this book series 5 stars for the brilliance of its writing. The interesting plotlines, some fascinating characters, and mostly wonderful use of language with excellent editing. OR ZERO stars for one of the most unlikeable main characters that make it near impossible to slog through one chapter to the next. Overwritten scenes that become so tedious you have no choice but to skip paragraphs. The bedroom scenes are so poorly written they could be left out. We are given a play by play how the character walks down a corridor but as far as spice go, we get a vague mention? Anyway... I settled on three stars because if you can stand the unpleasant main character I would imagine there is a gem of a storyline. I just could not overcome my disdain. Perhaps, if not every chapter was in her self-absorbed voice. She does become marginally less obnoxious in the later books. not enough to make her tolerable though.

First in Lilah love series with good suspense , secrets ,and character world development. Does have second book to continue with story. Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Excellent read. The good, the bad, and the ugly, in every character, so one can relate to them.
