im not talking about just "proton". im talking about "portproton" different pkg that is the closest and best alternative to steam. their website is linux-gaming.ru i believe.

no problem, my dood. happy to help. i was caught up on that problem for so long trying to figure it out after building my linux desktop. using linux for gaming can take a little know how but its way work it in the long run. if you want the easiest and smoothest way for gaming on linux install portproton. works out of the box for every game ive ran thro it.
open a teminal,
sudo apt install flatpak
(portproton isnt in the apt repository)
flatpak install portproton
(install the dependencies that the terminal will guide you through)
after that you just right click on the game and open with portproton
its not the best solution for ALL games but it will run nearly any game. if youre trying to play games with mods, to get them to work youll needa run them through steam with a specific launch option, e.g.: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command% OR WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b;winmm=n,b" %command% , depending on the game. youll have to look that one up yourself or ask me if you like, if youre in the situation.
games like YOMI Hustle (an itch game. also on steam now but i prefer the itch version) are better ran through wine and not port proton. for some reason portproton wont save your game data from whenever you play it, if you wanna use a terminal to launch with q4wine, super easy:
q4wine -b /path/to/game.exe
-b flag means its running a binary.
well, think thats just about all the useful advice i have for linux gaming at the moment. feel free to hit me up if you have any more troubles.
thats because you have to download corefonts thru wine. if you havent gotten it yet
sudo apt install q4wine
this is wine with a gui. much easier to deal with than using winecmd. after you get q1wine go to the set up tab, double click update fake drive, click 'fonts' on the left side and then double click on either corefonts or allfonts and let it download. you wont have this problem again
ok 2 things im sorry for here, 1st, im sorry im so late replying to this, i hope you figured it out already. 2nd, i cant help ya with quest. dont know enough about it. i got a oculus rift but i never could get it running on linux. i use debian. sad cuz its just sitting in my closet collecting spider webs now. still havent figured it out. i use an index now
well no one can help you with that amount of info dood. what kinda headset you got? whats your specific distro? im assuming you know you probably need a runtime like steamVR. if you dont, download steam, plug in your headset, run the set up. if your having trouble getting the headset to show a display just google "steavr on linux" and youll find a short instruction troubleshooting page on steam that will help you. if youve got all that done, add a non-steam game to your library (this game). after adding it to your library, right click on the game or click the gear icon and bring up the properties page, click compatability, select proton 9.0-4.
your game should run in vr mode now... maybe... like i sad, this is just me assuming what you have because you asked for help but gave absolutely no info.
eyo, moondev and or mods. i was playing this game through my valve index and, 2 things,
1) it would/does make a great VR game
and
2) it shouldnt be that hard to implement a VR version of the game considering Godot's VR support is built around the ARVR system that uses an interface architecture to integrate with various VR platforms like OpenVR and OpenHMD. dont know which version of Godot youre using but most currently Godot 4 uses OpenXR as the primary API.
just thought i'd letcha all know. all in all, even if you say, "yeah, fuck all that", its still a fantastic game. thank you for making it and letting us play it.
PS: does the game have modding support? if so, can you help me out with some some of the games GDscript? im guessing discord would probably be a better place to ask this.
because if a girl is gunna ask me to take her virginity, which has happened, its gunna be face to face, when she's not beat to shit and tied up crying.
in the situation MC was in, as soon as she said she'd scream for help, id say "ok. just one second." then go ganke every mother fucker there and straight gut em like a fish (i LIVE for that shit). then come back and untie her give her a blanket and promptly get the fuck outta there. let her scream if she wants at that point, her pimps/captors/kidnappers bled out minutes before.
dystopian world or not, THATS the best option .
anyway you try to tell me that any in game option is the best option, im gunna harshly disagree with.
however, thank you for coming at me respectfully with your point of view. i appreciate that.
ivee read 1984. im just not into rape/sex slaves. so its not about things taking a dark turn. its about what i prefer not to play. it aint my thing, it bothers me on a fucking molecular level and the update just came out to where u can (maybe) do something about it and its been like a year... so if'n it bothers u enough to comment about it, thats what i got. if it still bothers you, then mind your own fuckin business because you do sound rude, and im being nice considering its something that bothers me to the core.
so, have a joy joy day.
no real NTR content. well, unless you (MC) rent out the convenience store girl but I'd advise against it. I wont drop spoilers but it stops on a cliff hanger that made me boycott the game.
so if you count MC bangin' the store clerk, yes. there's NTR.
is it avoidable? absolutely.
it sucks because I've been playin this game since the beginning but as of last year I begrudgingly dropped it. I didn't approve of the turn it took without giving any the player any option to do anything about it.
anyway, hope that helps and happy gaming!
hahahaaha are you kidding me?? Linux is SO much easier to use and make SOOOO much more sense. 98% of ALL COMPUTERS ON EARTH run on linux. know why? because its not fucking retarded. but hey, you do you buddy. ill just continue not having to worry about viruses, spyware, malware, bloatware, data collection and security updates. im mean, i KNOW its just not worth it because its linux but i guess i just like doing things the hard way.
try opening a terminal in the directory containing the file and typing:
sudo chown user:user filename -R
i think thats the right command. replace the word "user" with your username e.g. berry:berry and "filename" with the name of the file. that should do it. ill double check the command. if its not right ill edit this. if it is then ill just leave the comment as is. again, this is based on linux so no garuntee but luckily the terminal in mac is very similar. best of luck
