I heartily, heartily recommend Justine Larbalestier's Liar. It's one of those Cannot Put Down books. And don't you dare click the cut tag because it's best unspoiled. ( Thoughts. )
In non-spoiler-ish reactions, can I say just how much I love the cover? I could barely start the book because I kept admiring the design. I love how the model is covering her face with her hair and hands, like she's hiding herself/telling people to step back. And yet her eyes are so challenging you can't help but be drawn in. And I love how the text on the back cover is "I will not lie" over and over. It's an excellent contrast with the novel's title itself.
I'll definitely look for more by this author. :3
