EIC - European Innovation Council

Following weeks of tailored preparation, the European Innovation Council (EIC) brought together 20 EIC‑backed start-ups from 11 countries with ALIAD (Air Liquide Venture Capital), Infineon Technologies, NXP Semiconductors, Stellantis, and STMicroelectronics in a dedicated EIC Multi-Corporate Day at the Hello Tomorrow Summit to foster collaboration in semiconductors and embodied AI. Between the start-up pitching rounds and one-to-one meetings, a panel led by EIC Programme Managers Isabel Obieta Vilallonga and Hedi Karray, moderated by Agnieszka Stasiakowska, Head of Sector EIC BAS, set out how edge intelligence, sensing and novel compute are reshaping industrial landscapes, and where Europe can build durable positions. As AI adoption expands, the conversation is shifting beyond model performance to a new challenge: making AI efficient, reliable and deployable in real-world environments. As Chief Growth Officer Iraia Ibarzabal puts it: "What we're seeing now is once a model fits on a device without needing constant cloud access, it can run in disconnected, regulated or resource-limited places that it couldn't do before. Bringing breakthrough science closer to patients across Europe 🔬 Following weeks of tailored preparation, the EIC Corporate Partnership Programme brought 16 EIC-backed start-ups and SMEs from 9 countries together with senior decision-makers from AstraZeneca, BioVentureHub, Bayer, Bayer Co.Lab, Chiesi Group, and Coloplast during the EIC Summit 2026 in Brussels. The EIC-backed start-ups addressed the specific innovation priorities set by each corporate partner, spanning next-generation therapeutics and drug discovery technologies, transformative drug development and AI-enabled discovery, chronic respiratory disease and neonatal care, and non-pharmacological solutions for bowel, bladder and stoma care.
