Is it like the iPhone's Dynamic Island?
In spirit, yes: a small shape at the top of the screen that shows what's going on and opens when you need
it, like the Dynamic Island on an iPhone or the notch on a MacBook. AWNA brings it to Windows 10 and 11.
How much is AWNA?
It's free to download, and Today, Tasks, Music and the Shelf are free for good. A key unlocks the rest
(Notes,
Time, Controls, Launch, Clipboard, Capture, voice input, sending files to and from your phone, and Claude Code
and Codex status): £8 once, on up to three PCs. Checkout shows the
price in your own currency. If it isn't for you, reply to the email
with your key within 14 days for a full refund, no questions asked.
Can I move my key to a new PC?
Yes. A key works on up to three PCs at once, and it isn't tied to any of them for good. To move it, open
Settings on the old PC, go to Licence and press Deactivate. That frees its place, and you can activate the key
on the new one.
Which versions of Windows does it work on?
Windows 11, and Windows 10 from version 2004 onwards: any Windows 10 PC that's been kept up to date since
2020.
Do I need admin rights to install it?
No. It installs just for you, without asking for an administrator, and keeps itself up to date from then on.
Does it send my data anywhere?
No. Your tasks, notes, clipboard, shelved files and settings stay on your PC, and there's no account. AWNA
only goes online for what you'd expect: checking for updates, fetching your calendars if you connect them,
downloading the voice model if you turn voice on, getting a saved link's icon from that site, and sending
feedback when you choose to. Files you send to or from your phone go straight across your own Wi-Fi,
encrypted, never through the internet or our server. And with Claude Code or Codex status on, AWNA reads
only their status, on your PC: never your prompts, your code or what they said. More on the
privacy page.
Will it slow my PC down?
At rest it uses next to no processor time, and it hides itself during fullscreen games, videos and
presentations.
Why does Windows warn me when I install it?
AWNA is signed by Afterimage Software Ltd, but Windows is wary of publishers it hasn't seen much of yet, so
while AWNA is new it may still say it protected your PC. Choose More info, check the
publisher says Afterimage Software Ltd, then Run anyway. The warning fades as more people
install it. Or get AWNA from the Microsoft
Store, which installs it without the warning.
How do I uninstall it?
Like any other app: Settings, Apps, Installed apps, then AWNA and Uninstall. Your notes and settings stay in
%AppData%\AWNA in case you come back, so delete that folder too if you want everything gone.
