Volkswagen to Launch New Subcompact SUV in India by 2027; To Rival Brezza, Venue, Sonet and Kylaq
Volkswagen will introduce an all-new subcompact SUV in India by 2027. This new model will slot under the four-meter mark, entering a competitive segment. The vehicle will be built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, developed for local needs. Manufacturing will occur in India, showing a long-term commitment. Specific details like name, engine, and price remain unconfirmed for now.
A Long-Awaited Move Into India's Biggest Segment
That changes with this new model, which the company describes as its most accessible German-engineered SUV yet for the Indian market. It will be built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, a version of Volkswagen Group's modular architecture that was developed jointly by engineering teams in India and Europe specifically for local tastes, price points and regulations. Volkswagen says the car will also be manufactured in India, reinforcing what it calls a long-term commitment to the country.
