2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift Unveiled In India With New 8-Speed Automatic, 360-Degree Camera And Rear Seat Massage

Skoda Auto India has unveiled the facelifted Slavia in India, bringing styling revisions, additional comfort and safety equipment, a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and a new infotainment system with an AI-powered voice assistant. Pre-bookings for the updated sedan are now open for Rs 15,000, although the company has not yet announced prices.

The Slavia facelift continues with the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, but the smaller engine gains a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5 TSI continues to be paired with a 7-speed DSG, while a 6-speed manual remains available with the 1.0 TSI.

The most significant changes are not to the basic architecture but to the equipment package. The facelift gets new LED headlamps and taillamps with sequential rear turn indicators, revised front and rear styling, a chrome strip across the grille and new alloy wheel designs.

For the first time, the Slavia will also be offered with the Monte Carlo trim from launch. The complete variant line-up comprises Classic, Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo. Two new exterior colours, Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige, join the existing palette.

The biggest mechanical change is the introduction of an 8-speed torque-converter automatic with the 1.0 TSI engine. Skoda claims this makes the Slavia the first sedan in its segment to combine a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic.

The 1.0 TSI will continue to be available with a 6-speed manual, while the more powerful 1.5 TSI retains its 7-speed DSG automatic. Skoda has also added rear disc brakes to the 1.5 TSI versions.

The 8-speed automatic is not an entirely new technology for Skoda Auto India. The company introduced the same type of transmission with the refreshed Kushaq earlier in 2026, where it was also positioned as a key upgrade to the 1.0 TSI range.

The Slavia facelift also gains features that were previously unavailable on the model. A rear-seat massage function is claimed to be a segment-first feature, while a 360-degree camera has been added to make parking and low-speed manoeuvring easier.

Skoda says the 360-degree camera is also the first such feature offered on a vehicle developed under its India 2.0 programme. Park Pilot with front parking sensors is another addition. Inside, the sedan gets a larger 10.25-inch digital cockpit, while the infotainment system uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported.

One of the more notable technology additions is Škoda's new voice assistant. The system uses Google Cloud's Automotive AI Agent and brings Google's Gemini technology into the vehicle. The system is designed to provide context-aware voice assistance, including access to real-time information and control of functions such as music, calls and climate control. Škoda also says the system has been developed to recognise Indian English accents.

The facelift retains the Slavia's five-star Global NCAP credentials for adult and child occupant protection. Global NCAP awarded the Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia five stars for both adult and child occupant protection in its 2023 India assessment. Skoda says the updated Slavia will have more than 25 active and passive safety features, including six airbags, as standard. Higher variants will offer more than 40 safety features.

The new Slavia will be covered by Skoda’s Super Care package, which includes a standard four-year/100,000 km warranty, four years of roadside assistance and four labour-free services for up to two years or 30,000 km. The warranty can be extended to six years, while the package also includes a six-year corrosion warranty and three-year paint warranty.

Škoda has opened pre-bookings for the new Slavia at Rs 15,000, but has not disclosed variant-wise prices in the announcement. The company has also not specified the exact customer delivery timeline either.
