I decided to have a little fun and check out the value of my website. I found two free sites that you can use to instantly calculate the value. Here are the results:

Not bad, huh? Of course, when you use sites like these, I don’t recommend taking them too seriously. It’s like taking a collectible to the auction house. The auctioneer can estimate the value, but what actually matters is what someone is willing to pay for it.

Do I think my blog is worth either of the estimates? To me it is and more. I say this because I highly value my blog. I have invested a lot of time and emotion into it. Do I think someone else will agree with the value? Probably not. Why would someone want to buy a blog that is tied to my personality the way mine is?

Does that mean that I wouldn’t sell my blog if I was offered good money for it? Absolutely not. As much as I love it, I’m no fool. My family, especially my son, would benefit from it. I’m happy that I won’t have to make that decision. Logically, realistically, the only real monetary value of my blog is $0. I’m the only one that would be interested in owning it, because it is centered around me.

Hellmann's Real Holiday Helpings Website and (Giveaway Closed)

Hellmann’s has a great new site up for the holidays. They have paired with Bobby Flay, an awesome chef, to bring us great recipes for the holidays. Plus, there are coupons available on the site for Hellman’s. There is also an awesome giveaway for free groceries and videos with Bobby Flay demonstrating his recipes with Hellmann’s mayonnaise. I love this, because you not only get to watch him make the dish, you can also print out the recipe.

On the site, you can play games each day for a chance to win a $50 Grocery Gift Card and free groceries for a year. This is separate from the sweetstakes you can enter on the site for free groceries for a year.

Now, I didn‘t see my favorite recipe using Hellmann‘s Mayonnaise. It is for devilled eggs. It is such an easy recipe. I don’t do any measuring, thought. I have been using this recipe for so long, that I do it by sight. Actually, it is a recipe that I learned from my mom. I don’t recall her ever using a printed recipe or measuring anything out for it, either. I use 6 - 12 eggs, depending on how many people I am feeding. I place the eggs into a pot of water with a little bit of salt. This makes it a little easier to peel the eggs. I boil the eggs until done.

Next, I cook up about a half pound of bacon until crispy. I lay out the bacon onto a paper towel to soak up the excess grease. I take the eggs and peel all of them. Then, I take out a plate and a bowl. I cut each egg in half and scoop out the yolk. I place the halves onto the plate. When I have all of the eggs cut in half, and the yolks in a bowl, I add some mayonnaise to the yolk and stir. I put enough mayonnaise into it to give it a creamy consistency. I take the cooked bacon and crumble them up into the yolk/mayonnaise mixture, then stir. All that is left is to scoop the mixture into the waiting egg halves and voila. I’m done. It’s a simple recipe, but oh so yummy.

Healing Thresholds

I wanted to pass on information to all my readers about the Healing Thresholds website. This is a great resource for parents to learn anything and everything about Autism. I really appreciated their page New Diagnosis of Autism. The first paragraph echoes what I tell parents who's child was just diagnosed with Autism.

The diagnosis of autism can be earth shattering, and the period after the diagnosis may be difficult. Do your best to focus on the love you have for your child and think about what you can do for your child today - try not to be overwhelmed by your fears of the future. You may have read and heard many scary predictions and stories, but no one knows your child's future. You can help create that future now by the actions that you take. You are on the threshold of a journey to heal you child, and we hope that Healing Thresholds can help you.

I also found the list of therapies and the explanations extremely helpful. There are so many out there. I remember spending weeks researching as many as I could. I wish I had known of this site back then. Another resource found on this site is the Community center . This includes blogging access, forums, and collective information sharing or wikis. There are many other resources, including scientific evidence research, weekly therapy ebriefs, latest news about autism, and more.

I recommend this site for mothers who need an all-in-one online resource. The advice and information provided are well written and objective. Your choices of therapies that are available are presented as your choice, not a necessity. I found this to be refreshing. I am still struggling with whether or not I am doing enough for my son. I know I am doing what my family can afford, and more. The hardest part for me is drawing the line and saying "Enough is Enough". It was reasuring to read
