It was fantastic to welcome our APAC CEO, Eileen, Ooi Wei Ling, to our Sydney town hall this week. Eileen shared stories from her own leadership journey, her experience balancing a fast-paced career with family life, and an exciting look at what’s ahead for PHD across APAC. Sometimes the best way forward is to bring something great back. Reviving mX as wX, we put AFLW into people’s hands and inspired more Australians to show up and support the game. It's a piece of work that we're so happy to receive a shortlist for the MFA Awards in the Partnership category. A big thank you to AFLW and News Corp for making this happen. Yesterday, 10 PHDers volunteered to join the Youth Off The Streets inter-school volleyball tournament, supporting students from six schools dedicated to helping young people reconnect with education. Although Team PHD (aka the Barbarians) didn’t quite take out the title, the day was a powerful reminder of the role community and connection play in creating opportunity. We’re incredibly proud to support Youth Off The Streets and the meaningful work they do to empower young people. A special shoutout to Kuan Cheah, recognised as a star player in every match for his consistently positive attitude 🌟

Competition was strong… but PHD Melbourne was stronger 🏆 Thanks to our friends at JCDecaux Australia for hosting such a fun afternoon. Congrats team.
Yesterday we served up something a little different in Melbourne – the inaugural JCDecaux Pickleball Classic at The Jar, South Melbourne. 18 agency teams (including a JCDecaux team) battled it out in a round‑robin format, with the top four progressing to the finals. After a tightly contested and high‑quality decider, congratulations to PHD, who took out the title over Advertising Associates This is just the beginning. Tournament #2 lands in July with another 20 agencies competing, and the top 8 from both tournaments will be invited back in September to play off for the JCDecaux Pickleball Classic Championship. Huge thanks to Zoe Kartanos, Daniel C. and Maddy Smart for bringing this event to life, and to all the agencies who played, supported their teams and helped create such an incredible atmosphere. Pickleball is the fastest‑growing sport in the world, and it’s easy to see why – the energy and competition were on full display yesterday. Top 8 – Tournament #1: Atomic 212º · PHD · Advertising Associates · Carat Australia · Hearts & Science · Mindshare · Wavemaker Australia & New Zealand · OMD Australia (Smith St – Coles) Looking forward to the next event in July. JCDecaux Australia National Pickleball League

Better thinking doesn’t happen by chance. It’s great to see investment where it truly matters & we’re excited to see Round 1 kick off with our people and clients. #Outthink #PHDMedia #MarkRitson #OmnicomOceania
Nick Garrett has been recutting the Omnicom Oceania business and its 100-plus brands to elevate from creative and media communications into the strategic high ground of customer-marketing transformation. It’s an audacious plan to propel the holdco out of a narrow execution swim lane and into much more fertile territory upstream – and to help those clients who haven’t figured it out yet get there too. But simply restructuring isn’t going to cut the mustard. Without a common language across teams and for success – and it’s incredibly fractured now – plus “radical connection” on the things teams need to know how to do, it’s just not going to work. Enter Omnicom Oceania’s new deal to put 1000+ frontline teams through Mark Ritson’s MiniMBA. It’s being described as a rare agency capability building deal, one of MiniMBA’s most significant financially and strategically, and an external partnership Garrett believes is absolutely necessary if he’s to build effective, confident staff that improve the value exchange between agency and client.
