Water infrastructure is often in the spotlight when things go wrong. And while there are real challenges to address, there is also a much bigger conversation to be had about the opportunities water creates for New Zealand's future. "When we talk about water infrastructure, we're not just talking about pipes and networks. We're talking about the infrastructure that supports communities to grow, keeps people healthy, and gives businesses the confidence to invest. Whether it's new housing developments, growing regional centres, or the data centres and industries that will power New Zealand's future, reliable water infrastructure is fundamental to our economic success," says Damian Pedreschi, Group Executive. That's why Ventia is proud to be hosting the Future of Water panel at Infrastructure New Zealand Building Nations 2026. Joining the discussion will be: • Hon. Simon Watts MP FCA, Minister of Local Government • Elena Trout, Board Chair, Waikato Waters • Jamie Sinclair, Chief Executive, Watercare Together, we’ll explore the challenges, opportunities, and decisions that will shape New Zealand's water future, and what it will take to build the resilient infrastructure our communities and economy depend on. We look forward to seeing you at Building Nations.

Investing to stay ahead means investing in the right partnerships, technology and people. Ventia's new DR24HD drilling rigs represent more than a fleet upgrade. They're part of a broader commitment to support customers with safer operations, improved productivity and greater operational insight. Developed in partnership with Foremost and tailored by our teams in Australia, the rigs feature remote-operated drilling and advanced automation that reduces manual intervention in critical activities. It's another example of how we're working with customers to solve challenges, improve performance and prepare for what's next. We're honoured to have received the 2026 Telecommunications Industry Excellence Award for Innovation in Infrastructure, Security and Resilience. This recognition reflects the extraordinary collaboration, innovation and dedication of our teams and partners delivering the digital infrastructure that will enable the SKA-Low telescope on Wajarri Yamaji Country in Western Australia, part of the world's largest and most sensitive radio telescope. As the primary infrastructure contractor supporting the SKAO in Australia, Ventia is delivering high-capacity fibre, power and processing infrastructure in one of the world's most remote and technically demanding environments. The project has required world-first engineering solutions, including RFI-shielded power and processing facilities capable of supporting ultra-sensitive scientific research while operating within a protected radio quiet zone. We thank the Australian Telecommunications Alliance for this honour and our partners at the SKA Observatory for their trust, collaboration and shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. This award is a testament to what can be achieved when our people, partners, suppliers, Traditional Owners and customers come together to solve complex challenges and create lasting value. https://lnkd.in/e7xKJjiS #TogetherWeGoFurther #ATAAwards #TIEAwards #DigitalInfrastructure #CriticalInfrastructure

"We started with the operational challenge, not the equipment." As mining operations evolve to meet critical mineral demand, service providers need to be capable of partnering with customers to deliver safer, more productive and future-ready solutions. Our team has modernised its dual rotary drilling fleet with advanced remote-control technology, improving operator safety, reducing complexity and creating a platform for driving greater operational efficiency. It's an investment in capability designed around our customers' long-term needs. Read more about this innovative project here: https://lnkd.in/e5fvixPF

Last week, the SKA Observatory’s Ngurra-Maga, SKA-Low telescope Central Processing Facility building was officially opened on Wajarri Yamaji Country in Western Australia. Ngurra-Maga means “home of the head” in Wajarri language. Purpose‑built to house the telescope’s advanced signal processing and high-performance computing systems, this facility will act as the “brain” of SKA‑Low, receiving and processing faint signals captured across a vast array of antennas, before transmitting them via fibre to supercomputers for processing and then on to scientists around the world. Ventia is proud to have delivered this highly specialised, radio‑frequency‑shielded building, alongside the power and fibre infrastructure that will connect the telescope array to the high-performance computers that will soon be installed in the facility. Engineered and constructed in one of the most remote and radio quiet environments on Earth, the facility meets exceptionally stringent performance requirements, helping preserve the integrity of signals that will unlock new insights into the formation of the first stars and galaxies, and the origins of the Universe. Officially opened by His Excellency The Hon Christopher Dawson and Wajarri Yamaji representatives Jennylyn Hamlett and Des Mongoo, this milestone reflects the strength of collaboration between SKAO, CSIRO, Aurecon, Ventia and many partners, as well as the ongoing commitment to work closely with the Wajarri Yamaji People, Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders of the site. We are proud to contribute to infrastructure that not only demonstrates Australian engineering excellence, but supports a global scientific endeavour set to transform our understanding of the cosmos.
