Office markets are won and lost in the details tenants actually notice. Last Thursday, SKG Services was a supporting sponsor of the Property Council of Australia's NSW Mid-Year Office Market Report in Sydney, with our Group Chief Executive Officer Prabin Shrestha, Executive Director Business Development John Conomos and Executive Director Operations Charlie Vasilas in the room. The independently verified data and the expert panel covered a lot of ground: leasing success built on meeting evolving tenant demands, funds performing above benchmark, what makes a tenancy renewal actually work, and the trends putting pressure on valuation performance. One theme carried through all of it. Renewals rest on quality tenant relationships, and those relationships are shaped every day by how a building is presented, secured and maintained. Long before anyone sits down to negotiate. That is our part of the job. Fifty years of it, 3,500 people on the ground and more than 4,000 sites serviced nationally. Thanks to the Property Council of Australia for a well-run morning, and to everyone who stopped for a conversation on the day.

Creating safer workplaces requires more than good intentions. It requires organisations to demonstrate that their safety systems are effective, measurable and consistently applied. Our Group General Manager of Risk, Tracey Broers, recently shared her insights with HRD Australia on SafeWork NSW's strengthened approach to workplace health and safety compliance, and why organisations must move beyond policy to evidence-based safety practices. Strong safety cultures are built through leadership, accountability and continuous improvement. By empowering people, embedding robust governance and regularly reviewing safety performance, organisations can create environments where safety is not just expected, but actively demonstrated. At SKG Services, we believe workplace safety is everyone's responsibility. Our commitment is to ensure the systems, processes and behaviours we implement deliver meaningful outcomes for our people, clients and the communities we serve. Thank you to HRD Australia for the opportunity to contribute to this important industry conversation. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gPZms3Vv

Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, but so are the risks associated with autonomous systems. Our Director of Information Technology, Michael Jackas, was featured in The Sydney Morning Herald, sharing his perspective on the growing cyber risks posed by autonomous AI and what this could mean for Australia’s critical infrastructure. Michael Jackas highlighted the importance of strengthening legacy systems, improving cyber resilience and ensuring security frameworks evolve at the same pace as emerging technology. Thank you to journalist David Swan for including Michael’s insights in this important conversation. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eZKivSac

Cybersecurity incidents are no longer a matter of if, but when. The real measure of an organisation is how prepared it is to respond. The recent Origin Energy security incident has reinforced the importance of strong cyber governance, timely incident response and clear communication during periods of uncertainty. As organisations continue to manage increasingly complex digital environments, resilience must be embedded across every level of the business. Our Director of Technology and Information, Michael Jackas, recently shared his insights with Information Age on the incident, highlighting the importance of proactive security measures, continuous monitoring and organisational readiness in today's evolving threat landscape. Conversations like these are an important reminder that cybersecurity extends well beyond technology. It requires collaboration, informed decision making and a culture where security is everyone's responsibility. By continuing to share knowledge and industry expertise, we can help strengthen resilience across Australian organisations. Artificial intelligence is reshaping the way organisations work, but its success will always depend on the trust people place in it. As AI continues to evolve, so too must the conversations around governance, transparency and the role of human judgement in the workplace. Finding the right balance between innovation and accountability will be critical as organisations integrate AI into everyday operations. Recent developments in Australia reflect this growing focus on building public trust through clear frameworks and responsible AI adoption. In her latest feature with HR Leader, Julie Statevski explores why organisations should view AI as a tool to empower people rather than replace them, and why responsible implementation starts with strong leadership, clear policies and a people first approach. As technology continues to transform the workplace, one thing remains unchanged: trust is earned through transparency, communication and putting people at the centre of every decision. Thank you to HR Leader for providing a platform to discuss one of the most important conversations shaping the future of work. When critical infrastructure fails, the impact extends far beyond technology. It affects businesses, communities and the essential services people rely on every day. The recent Telstra outage sparked an important discussion around technology resilience, with our Director of Technology and Information, Michael Jackas, contributing his expertise to news.com.au on what organisations can learn from the incident. While no system is immune to failure, resilience is built through preparation. Strong governance, robust system design, redundancy and continuous testing are essential to reducing risk and ensuring organisations can respond quickly when unexpected events occur. The incident serves as a timely reminder that technology resilience is no longer just an IT consideration. It is a business-wide priority. Michael's perspective reinforces the importance of designing technology ecosystems that are resilient, adaptable and prepared for disruption. As organisations continue to accelerate their digital transformation, these conversations are critical to strengthening operational continuity and protecting the services that businesses and communities rely on every day. Congratulations to Michael Jackas on this feature, and thank you to news.com.au for facilitating an important discussion on the future of technology resilience. When people ask me about my career, they often focus on where I am today. But the lessons that have shaped me the most came long before I became SKG Services Group CEO. I started my journey over 30 years ago as a frontline cleaner. Those early experiences taught me the value of hard work, resilience, humility and, above all, the importance of people. They gave me a perspective that continues to influence every decision I make as a leader. In my latest feature with Business Acumen, I reflect on the journey from the frontline to the executive table and the leadership principles that have guided me along the way. Success is never achieved alone. It is built by people who are committed to a shared purpose, support one another and never lose sight of the values that brought them there. I have always believed that leadership is not about where you sit within an organisation. It is about how you show up every day, how you empower others and how you create opportunities for people to grow. Thank you to Business Acumen for the opportunity to share my story. I hope it encourages others to embrace every stage of their own journey because every experience has something valuable to teach. A clean workplace is not determined by gender. It is shaped by culture. Great to see our CEO, Prabin Shrestha, featured in News.com.au sharing his perspective on workplace cleanliness and the role organisational culture plays in creating healthier, more productive environments. While recent research explored the everyday habits of Australian workers, Prabin highlights that maintaining clean and hygienic workplaces is ultimately a shared responsibility. When employees take ownership of their environment, and organisations prioritise well-maintained shared spaces, higher standards naturally follow. This mindset is central to the way we work at SKG Services. We understand that workplace cleaning extends far beyond presentation. Creating clean, safe and well-maintained environments supports employee wellbeing, enhances productivity and helps organisations foster a positive workplace culture where people can perform at their best. Thank you to news.com.au for the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gVnpSFJc
