Updates

  • Our Managing Director, Simon Rushton sat down with Small Caps to talk through a significant few weeks for Macro Metals. The headline: we've agreed to divest the Agbaja Iron Ore Project in Nigeria for US$5.6M being capital that funds our next phase without returning to shareholders for it. That capital goes to work in the Pilbara. In July we added Yandi South: 56km² sitting around 5km from BHP's Yandi operation and bordering Rio Tinto's Yandicoogina. Alongside our interest in the Extension project, it sharpens our focus squarely onto Western Australian iron ore and our growing mining services business. Simon walks through the rationale, what completion of the Agbaja sale looks like, and where the next leg of growth comes from. • Macro Metals Limited (ASX: M4M) has today announced that it has entered into a non-binding term sheet for the sale of 100% of the shares in KCM Mining Limited, the registered owner of the Agbaja Iron Ore Project in Kogi State, Nigeria. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀: • Divestment enables Macro to solely focus on its Western Australian mining services and resource development businesses and deploy sale proceeds to accelerate growth in a non-dilutionary manner • Buyer is RSIN Nigeria Limited, part of the RSIN Group, which has held mining, mineral processing, smelting and steel manufacturing interests in Nigeria for almost two decades • Purchase price of US$5,670,000 on a cash-free, debt-free locked-box basis • The community development agreement with the local Agbaja community is to be extended to at least December 2031, providing continuity for local stakeholders Macro has invested in the Agbaja region for more than a decade, funding exploration, resource definition drilling, studies, trial mining and a long-running metallurgical research program. The proposed transaction would allow the Company to focus solely on its Western Australian mining services and resource development businesses, with proceeds applied in a non-dilutionary manner. • Wheels turning on Country. 🚛 Our heavy mobile equipment is on the road, mobilising to BHP’s Mt Goldsworthy operation in the Pilbara to deliver Nyapiri Macro Mining’s first work package under our Framework Agreement with BHP Iron Ore. Site establishment, temporary facilities, civil earthworks and rehabilitation — $12.52 million of work running through to May 2027. What makes it different is who’s doing it. Nyapiri Macro is majority owned by Nyapiri Holdings, a Kariyarra, Ngarla and Nyamal Traditional Owner business, which means Traditional Owners working on and rehabilitating their own Country, with local Indigenous employment and procurement built in from day one. Thanks to the BHP team for getting us here, and to our crews for a safe mobilisation. More to come. 👊 #Pilbara #IndigenousBusiness #MiningServices #BHP #OnCountry

  • Macro Metals (ASX: M4M) has agreed to acquire the Yandi South iron ore project in WA's Pilbara for $6.5m plus a production royalty. The 56km² project sits ~17km from our Extension project and borders BHP's Yandi and Rio Tinto's Yandicoogina operations. It comes with a historical resource of 4.28Mt at 55.8% Fe (including a high-grade core of 1.88Mt at 58% Fe), plus untested magnetite potential - only ~10% of the tenure has been drilled to date. If our adjoining tenure applications are granted, this expands our wholly-owned Pilbara footprint to ~100km². • We've just published a piece on a project our Managing Director, Simon Rushton, believes genuinely matters for Western Australia, and for where our industry is heading. Our wholly owned company, Macro Mining Services, has been appointed the exclusive mining services provider for MetalLogic's modular steelmaking project in the East Pilbara. The idea is a simple but powerful one: bring value-added processing to the resource, rather than ship raw ore away and buy the steel back at a premium. For our shareholders and partners, it's a clear signal of the work we're building toward - technically complex, first-of-their-kind projects, delivered safely and with Traditional Owner participation embedded from the outset. I've shared my full thoughts in the article below. Worth a read if you're watching where downstream processing in WA is heading. 👇 Read the article
