Behind the Scenes: Supporting our people on HumeLink East The Yass Worker Accommodation Facility provides a home base for up to 300 people working on Transgrid's HumeLink East project which is being delivered by the AGJV, a partnership between ACCIONA and Genus. Located just 7 kilometres from Yass, the facility has been designed with the wellbeing of our people in mind; with a fully equipped gym, recreation spaces and quiet outdoor areas to help workers recharge after their shifts. Flexibility is also built into the design. The facility can scale from 300 to 100 residents without losing access to core amenities, supporting efficient use of resources as the project progresses through different phases. For Genus and our delivery partners, delivering major transmission infrastructure is about more than the work on site. It’s about creating the right environment for our people to live, work and perform at their best. #ProudlyPoweringWhatMatters #HumeLinkEast #Transmission #Infrastructure

GenusPlus Group reposted this
There are parts of my job that are expected, and then there are parts that I genuinely love doing which is not expected. Yesterday I had the opportunity to deliver some Cert III training at our Muchea Training Facility, working with a great group of apprentices and crew members. What made the day more rewarding was having some of our apprentices join us from our north teams. For many of them, exposure to tasks like live underground and live LV overhead work can be limited simply because of where they're based, so having them at Muchea gave them access to experiences they might not otherwise get and assist them in gathering evidence and helping with their course books. We also had some of the team completing their live pole stand assessments as part of progressing their crane ticket signoffs, which was fantastic to see. What the day reinforced for me is just how important it is for Genus to have a facility like Muchea. It's more than just a training yard. It's a place where people can learn in a controlled environment, free from the pressures of a live worksite. A place where apprentices can make mistakes, ask questions, build confidence and develop skills before they're expected to perform them in the field. As someone who's passionate about developing the next generation of lineworkers, this is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Passing on my knowledge, sharing experiences and seeing people grow in confidence is something I never take for granted. The day started early, fuelled by the mandatory coffee, and finished with a lot of tired but motivated people who walked away with new skills, greater confidence and a better understanding of the work they'll be doing throughout their careers. Seeing the engagement, questions and willingness to learn from everyone there was a reminder of why training matters so much. The future of our industry depends on investing in our people, and days like yesterday show exactly why that's worth it. #Training #Development #Apprenticeships #PowerIndustry #Lineworkers #Leadership #Learning #Genus #MucheaTrainingFacility #Genusplusgroup #Mateship

At Muchea in Western Australia, Genus is proud to be supporting Western Power’s investment in the future of the network and building capability where it matters most: in the field. Our purpose-built transmission and distribution training facility is designed to replicate real-world scenarios, giving apprentices and lineworkers the opportunity to develop critical skills in a controlled, high-performance environment. This initiative brings together industry expertise to strengthen workforce resilience across the sector, and there’s more to come. The training captured here - run in collaboration with Aurecon and Western Power's Power Training Services team - reflects the realities of the job and features real-world scenarios including insulator replacement, tensioning and stringing, and complex problem-solving at height. It’s hands-on, technically rigorous and grounded in safety, discipline and precision. Beyond the infrastructure, it’s the people who define Muchea. Experienced trainers mentoring the next generation; teams working together under pressure; and apprentices building confidence, capability and pride in their craft. These are the moments that shape careers, and support the resilience of the Western Power network. This facility represents a significant investment in addressing skills demand for Western Australia’s energy system. Together, we’re proudly powering what matters. #Training #InvestInTheFuture #ProudlyPoweringWhatMatters

Our feature in the latest Utility Magazine highlights the Aldoga Solar Farm substation project in Queensland, where our team partnered with ACCIONA Energía to help deliver one of the state's largest renewable energy projects. From design optimisation that reduced the switchyard footprint by approximately 40%, to innovative construction methodologies that improved safety, efficiency and delivery, the project demonstrates what can be achieved when experienced teams work together with a shared focus on outcomes. More importantly, Aldoga reflects the Genus Way; combining engineering excellence, practical problem-solving and trusted partnerships to deliver critical infrastructure that supports Australia's renewable energy future. We're proud of what the team achieved and the role this project continues to play as a benchmark for excellence across our business. ⚡100 towers and counting for HumeLink East! Genus and our delivery partner ACCIONA are celebrating the completion of the 100th transmission tower for Transgrid’s HumeLink East project. Main construction on the project started late 2025, with the first tower completed in January 2026 - and the 100th erected this month. Project Director Carel Nagel said: “This is a significant milestone on the project, as just over six months ago we were celebrating the erection of our first tower and now here we are at 100 completed towers.” The HumeLink East project includes 459 transmission towers which will support more than 6,000 km of conductor. Once completed it will help deliver a more reliable and sustainable grid by increasing the amount of renewable energy that can be delivered to millions of homes and businesses. #ProudlyPoweringWhatMatters
