FocUS-R reposted this
Almost everyone in our FocUS-R study describes the same stress-management strategies: walking, talking to someone, mindfulness, planning the week. What seems to differ is whether life lets them use them. In an initial look at some pilot data, having access to time, money, and flexibility to act on stress may matter more than knowing effective strategies when it comes to managing stress effectively. We're now in our final year of recruitment for this first cohort, and we'd still love to hear from more people. If you're in Australia and willing to share how stress shows up in your everyday life, for about 10 minutes a fortnight, for as little or as long as you like, you'd be adding to a picture that's already changing how we think about stress and inequality. What's one strategy you reach for that your week doesn't always allow? (Link to take part in the comments.) #HealthEquity #MentalHealthPrevention #CitizenScience
