On Hearts & Mines, David Beilby asks Alex Rovira, Managing Director of Brightstar Resources, what unique value proposition he pitches to executives weighing offers from bigger, more established miners. Rovira points to Brightstar's construction pipeline, starting with the Goldfields processing plant south of Laverton, producing 75,000 ounces per annum from next year, followed by the flagship Sandstone project roughly 18 months later. Building two projects back-to-back, he says, gives professionals the rare chance to build a business from the ground up and put their own fingerprint on it, a pitch that has proven successful in pulling talent out of the mid-tier miners despite the lure of higher, more reliable pay elsewhere. Every operating gold mine starts with an idea, but only a small number of explorers successfully make the transition to becoming producers. That journey requires more than a gold discovery. It takes long-term planning, investment, community engagement, environmental approvals and the expertise to move from exploration into construction and operations.
