How do we keep energy reliable and affordable for Australians? By supporting the investment needed to bring on new supply. In The Australian, Beach Energy MD & CEO Brett Woods discusses why increasing domestic gas supply is critical to Australia's long term energy security and affordability, and why policy settings through the Federal Government's Gas Market Review should support investment in the new supply needed to power the nation's households, businesses and manufacturers. As Australia celebrates NAIDOC Week 2026 and the theme 50 Years of Deadly, Beach Energy is recognising the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. One of the ways we're marking the week is through the temporary renaming of meeting rooms across our corporate offices using First Nations language words. Accompanied by signage explaining their meaning and connection to Country, the activation is designed to spark curiosity, conversation and a deeper appreciation of the world's oldest continuing cultures. #NAIDOCWeek2026 #50YearsofDeadly #Reconciliation #FirstNationsLanguages

Thank you Energy Club WA for bringing together industry leaders to discuss the practical realities of balancing decarbonisation, energy security, reliability and affordability. Beach Energy Chief Operating Officer Glenn Watt shared Beach's perspective on the critical role domestic gas and associated oil production continues to play in supporting households, industry and the integration of renewables, while highlighting the need for balanced policy settings that encourage investment and support a secure, lower-emissions energy future. #AustralianEnergyWhenYouNeedIt #EnergySecurity #NaturalGas #EnergyFuture
What does "getting it right" really look like for Australia's energy future? That was the question at the heart of our June Industry Dinner, where we welcomed an outstanding panel of industry leaders to discuss the balancing act between renewables, oil and gas. A huge thank you to our panellists: Glenn Watt, Chief Operating Officer, Beach Energy Ltd Dean Sharafi, Strategic Advisor – Energy Transition, Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) Gary Bryant, Executive General Manager Power, APA Group Ross Jamieson, Executive Officer, AGIT - The Australian Gas Industry Trust And to our facilitator, Katarina Van Der Haar كاتارينا فان در هار The discussion explored the complex trade-offs between decarbonisation, energy security, reliability and affordability, with each panellist bringing a unique perspective from across the energy value chain. What made the evening particularly valuable was the willingness to have an open, balanced and honest conversation. There are no simple answers to Australia's energy transition, but discussions like these help us better understand the challenges, opportunities and realities facing our industry. We would also like to congratulate our GasSpeak participants who came to stage at short notice to MC the event - Richard Frayne, Kathryn Millican, and Sam Raschiatore Of course, it wouldn't be an Energy Club WA event without the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, meet new faces and continue the conversation well beyond the panel. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to another fantastic evening of networking and knowledge sharing. Australia has the gas and oil resources it needs. The challenge is making sure policy supports the investment required to develop them. On Sky News Australia this weekend, Beach Energy MD & CEO Brett Woods discussed the importance of maintaining Australia’s energy and fuel security, and the role domestic producers play in delivering reliable supply to homes, businesses and industry. Beach has invested more than $2.5 billion over the past five years to help meet growing east coast demand, with domestic producers now supplying up to 75 per cent of the market. Australia is not running out of gas. We need practical reforms that encourage investment, reduce unnecessary red tape and support the development of the resources that power our economy.
