About us

Aqwest provides drinking water to about 18,000 properties in the City of Bunbury and surrounding areas and is committed to providing sustainable, high-quality drinking water that consistently meets or exceeds customers’ expectations. Aqwest’s water is pumped from the Yarragadee Aquifer, a large underground fresh water supply, stretching from Bunbury to Nannup. The Yarragadee is recharged with rainfall which percolates through the ground and is a limited resource which must be conserved and protected to ensure water is available into the future.

  • Aqwest CEO Gary Hallsworth and Board Director Kate Baker were in Perth Tuesday for the WAter GTE Forum meeting, connecting with fellow CEOs and Board members from Busselton Water and Water Corporation. The forum is a chance for the state’s water utilities to come together and talk through the challenges and priorities facing the sector, from planning for growth to keeping supply secure and sustainable for communities across WA. Water Corporation hosted us for a tour of the Alkimos Desalination Plant, currently under construction and set to add 50GL to Perth’s integrated water supply scheme once complete. Thank you Water Corporation for hosting us and providing such an informative day. 💧
