Diffused light cove — an architectural recess hiding a light source that bounces soft illumination onto walls, creating a seamless shadowless ambient glow.
Bouncing Ambient Softness
A diffused light cove works by hiding the light source inside a wall or ceiling recess, forcing light to bounce off adjacent surfaces first. This eliminates harsh glare and direct hotspots, giving your frame a smooth, shadowless glow.
To get the best result in AI prompts, pair this technique with matte surfaces (non-reflective finishes like smooth plaster or concrete) to spread the illumination evenly without unwanted reflections.
