geometry

geometry, according to wikipedia, is a branch of mathematics concerned with properties of space, such as the distance, shape, size, and relative position of figures. it is one of the oldest branches of mathematics. in school, i was pretty good at geometry (and horrible at algebra which apparently is common -- to be good at one and awful at the other). i love shapes and points, distances, and thus  was delighted to be able to select geometry as a theme for hosting sunday postcard art this week. i had so much fun playing with shapes and such, that i made 4 creations!

you all know i can never resist making some sort of a circus scene!

winter woods

this month's customer challenge at gecko galz is winter woods. there is something so peaceful about winter woodland scenes so this will be a fun challenge. as with all gecko galz challenges, the only requirement is that you use at least one gecko galz item in your creation and freebies are regularly given at the blog. in fact, the centerpiece of my digital creation is one of the freebies from the blog!

to look forward and back

for our midweek muse: time 

i'm a little late getting this entry in, but you know, busy holiday times. for this creation i was thinking about the roman god Janus (for which the month January is named). Janus is the guardian of doorways and gates and is usually pictured with two faces, looking both backward and forward. which seems like a good way to represent both time, entering into a new year, honoring transitions past and future, and the inevitability of change.
