About ArkDeploy
The Philosophy Behind ArkDeploy
Most enterprise Windows images are built on good intentions and crossed fingers.
A systems administrator spins up a virtual machine, manually clicks through software installers in Audit Mode, runs Windows Update, and triggers Sysprep. When that image breaks six months later, crashing during an Intune remote wipe, hanging on a 3-hour Autopilot provisioning loop, or corrupting its recovery partitions, teams assume Windows is simply fragile.
On a factory production floor, that approach doesn’t just fail, it bleeds margin and drives up warranty returns.
Hi, I’m Brett. I founded ArkDeploy after more than a decade directing manufacturing operations, systems engineering, and hardware-to-OS deployment pipelines for leading UK computer manufacturers and system builders. My career has been built around a simple engineering truth:
“A deployment isn’t production-ready because it boots, it’s production-ready because it services cleanly, survives updates, and recovers deterministically in the hands of non-technical users.”
Engineering at National Scale
My background spans the entire hardware-to-cloud lifecycle:
- Global ODM & Hardware Collaboration: Working directly on the ground with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and Independent Design Houses (IDHs) in China to specify hardware platforms, validate thermal/power envelopes, and engineer board-level firmware for commercial and education mobile devices.
- National Education Rollouts: Architecting the factory imaging, automated provisioning pipelines, and recovery systems for hundreds of thousands of student laptops deployed across the UK under nationwide remote learning schemes. One of the largest, highest-scrutiny hardware rollouts in modern British history.
- Zero-Touch Factory Floor Automation: Designing and building automated, hands-off manufacturing pipelines for high-volume custom PC and commercial device production. This included zero-touch automated BIOS flashing, dynamic driver orchestration, multi-lingual provisioning, and continuous automated testing across thousands of unique component configurations.
- Microsoft Partner Recognition: Leading first-to-market device initiatives in direct collaboration with Microsoft engineering teams, culminating in a prestigious Microsoft Device Partner of the Year award.
Why ArkDeploy Exists
When I looked at how modern businesses, Multi-Academy Trusts, and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) were handling device provisioning, I saw teams struggling with problems the manufacturing world solved years ago.
Organisations were told that cloud management meant the death of image engineering. Yet in practice, pure-cloud rollouts often led to endless Autopilot ESP timeouts over residential broadband, missing recovery configurations, and machines that bricked when an admin triggered an Intune remote wipe.
ArkDeploy was created to bring true OEM-grade build discipline directly to enterprise and education fleets:
- Infrastructure as Code: Every image is defined by a clean, deterministic recipe. No manual clicking in VMs, no dirty registry keys, and no legacy snapshot drift.
- True Push Button Reset (PBR) Persistence: Using native OEM ScanState and provisioning architectures, our baselines survive local user resets and remote Intune wipes without losing corporate customizations or critical hardware drivers.
- No Commercial Lock-In: You receive clean, validated, standard Microsoft .WIM or .ESD files and transparent documentation. You own the artifact outright.
- Community-Driven Tools: We build and maintain the open-source ArkDeploy Toolkit, giving sysadmins worldwide a clean, free WinPE environment to capture and deploy images using native DISM.
The Standard We Deliver
Whether we are engineering an update-aligned, lightweight base image to accelerate your Microsoft Intune rollout, building a multi-user baseline that survives student abuse across a Multi-Academy Trust, or auditing your internal factory deployment pipelines, the standard remains identical:
“A successful deployment proves Windows can be installed. A successful recovery proves Windows can be supported.”
If you are ready to eliminate deployment drift, cut provisioning times, and deploy Windows endpoints built to factory standards, let’s talk.
